* BladeReflection: Three for one, when you're in the [[EldritchLocation Blacksmith's Shop]]. Ruby sees Penny in her blade, Alyx in her dagger, and her mother in a rifle-axe on the wall heavily implied to be Summer's weapon.

Added DiffLines:

* ClingyMacGuffin: Possibly. Penny's sword returns, albeit only in Ruby's MindScrew vision of the Blacksmith.

Uncertain Doom is "the fate of any character who possibly didn't make it, but is never actually proven dead. This can happen at any point in a story, but happens so frequently at the end that we have tropes devoted specifically for that situation." However, in the case of the Curious Cat, he's left fighting the Jabberwalker to cover for the main character's escape, so it doesn't count.

* UncertainDoom: The Curious Cat stays behind to help hold off the Jabberwalkers, but is not seen or heard dying like the Hawker. There's an additional layer of uncertainty due to the Jabberwalker being combined with Neo's illusions: while the true Jabberwalker can cause a CessationOfExistence to those it eats, it's not clear if that power extends to Neo's clones of it.

Added DiffLines:

* BazaarOfTheBizarre: The market is a giant building in the lake populated by fantastical vendors, who sell things like mud cookies, leprechaun nose hairs, and the ability to shed your identity.

Added DiffLines:

* CharacterizationClickMoment: Previous interactions with the Jabberwalker were against Team RWBY and Neo, who were able to handle it due to their training. This episode reveals its ability to [[CessationOfExistence permanently kill]] Ever After denizens, has it actually eating the inhabitants of the carnival, and with Neo's Semblance empowering it the girls are forced to run.
* CookingMechanics: The Ever After appears to run on these. When all the ingredients are combined, they form a perfect dessert in a parfait glass with a cherry on top despite neither of those existing before, and even have small patterns in the cream that would be impossible with any real food.

Added DiffLines:

* HorseOfADifferentColor: Jaune's [[HorsebackHeroism steed]] is a giant white rabbit with golden antlers.

Added DiffLines:

* LilyPadPlatform: Giant lily pads act as boats to the market. Justified by the magic of the Ever After.

Added DiffLines:

* PlotRelevantAgeUp: Jaune is revealed to have aged a couple decades through unknown means.

* VocalEvolution: Jaune's voice is notably deeper and smoother due to his age, to the point where Team RWBY didn't recognize him speaking.
* WeNamedTheMonkeyJack: It's revealed that Jaune named his rabbit "Juniper" after his old team.

* BigDamnHeroes: The Jabberwalker is between a still shrunken RWBY and the parfait and backs them into a corner with no way out. Then the Rusted Knight charges in, rams the Jabberwalker with his steed, and gives them their opening.

* IntangiblePrice: With time running out and her desperately needing the parfait, Ruby offers her emblem to the Teapot Lady, saying it carries "a mother's promise".

* MindControlEyes: The Hawker is trailing blue streams from his eyes after the Curious Cat "gives him something new to do", and he recklessly charges the Jabberwalker over and over.

* SoundOnlyDeath: The Hawker is last seen being pulled to the ground by the Jabberwalkers, after which it cuts back to Ruby, who can hear the screams and tearing that leave no doubt to his fate.

* WreckedWeapon: Crocea Mors is broken at the tip, with Jaune's armor old and rusted.

Tweaked wording for flow. Also Examples Are Not Recent.

* InternalReveal: The glass illusion-shattering effect tells Team RWBY that Neo is alive and still trying to kill them in the Ever After, and that she somehow managed to tame the Jabberwalker under her control.
* MindScrew: Ruby's encounter with the Blacksmith; first, all the surrounding lights and scenery go dark, then Ruby sees Penny's reflection in her sword. After talking to the Blacksmith for a brief time, Ruby notices that she's suddenly holding a dagger that shows the reflection of a young girl Ruby doesn't know. After Ruby turns and sees either herself or her mother Summer's reflection in an axe on the Blacksmith's wall, she hears her team calling her back, and suddenly, she's back in the market, having seemingly not moved and with no sign of the Blacksmith or her stand.

* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: The Curious Cat has a tendancy to be cryptic and evasive even when freaked out. However, when the Jaberwalker attacks, they are so terrified that they completely drop their enigmatic attitude and answer Team RWBY's questions as swiftly and simply as possible. The Cat makes it clear that Weiss, Blake and Yang need to regain their true sizes as fast as possible for everyone's sake.
* ResurrectiveImmortality: The Cat explains that when a being in the Ever After fails to fulfill their purpose, they are "called back" and made to serve their purpose properly again. This is the closest the Ever After has to death, and it's temporary. This makes the Jabberwalker even more terrifying in the eyes of the Ever Afters' denizens, as it can '''''permanently''''' kill them.

This is trope misuse. I've been looking at the related tropes. This trope has a supertrope Significant Name Overlap, but I don't know if this example fits that trope. There's also another trope We Named The Monkey Jack. It looks like We Named The Monkey Jack is the more relevant-sounding trope, but I don't know if a team name, rather than a person's name, is within scope of the trope. It might need to be double-checked on the Is This An Example? thread. Not Quite Dead is trope misuse. It's for when a hero thinks they've won because the villain is dead only for the villain to turn out to not be dead. This is a physical "illusion" and we don't know what happened to the original.

* NearAndDearBabyNaming: Jaune's jackalope-like steed is named Juniper, after his old team.
* NotQuiteDead: Weiss, Blake, Yang, and The Rusted Knight all band together to kill the Jabberwalker... only for it to shatter like Neo's illusions and more Jabberwalkers to appear. This invokes a retreat from the heroes.
Is there an issue? Send a MessageReason:
After double-checking the trope, I've removed both examples. The trope is for permanent ambiguity that is never resolved.

* AmbiguousSituation:
** Although Ruby assumes that it is, it's not established whether the copy of Penny's sword in the Blacksmith's possession is the same one that the Red Prince discarded, or if it's one of Penny's other conjured weapons. Given the MindScrew nature of the entire encounter, it's not even clear if the sword (or, indeed, the Blacksmith herself) was ever truly there at all.
** The last time Little is seen is when the parfait is being created, sitting on Ruby's right shoulder. As the Jabberwalker attacks, the camera is facing Ruby's left side; Little isn't visible but squeals loudly. It's the last time they're seen or heard in the episode, meaning it's not known if Little was separated from Ruby during the attack or is just hiding out of sight in Ruby's cowl as they sometimes do when scared.
Is there an issue? Send a MessageReason:
Removing trope misuse; this is for when the fate of a character can never be confirmed. It's not for an episode cliffhanger where characters are left fighting while the main characters escape. If this trope ever does come into play for those characters, it'll be later on.

* UncertainDoom: The Curious Cat and the Hawker volunteer to hold off the horde of Jabberwalkers while the heroes flee; their fates and the outcome of the fight remain unknown at the end of the episode. Even if they were eaten, it's ambiguous if Neopolitan's Jabberwalker clones have the same CessationOfExistence ability as the original.

The Cat has freaked out several times so far, even just after their first appearance over the Red Prince's behaviour. What is different is how straight-forward and honestly they answer the questions.

* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: The Curious Cat has been a fairly calm being for the entirety of the time that the team has known him, generally not always answering their questions (or doing so in a very roundabout way), and being easily distracted. However, when the Jabberwalker makes its return, he's visibly ''freaking out'' and drops his usual behavior, outright telling them what will happen if the Jabberwalker kills any of them ([[KilledOffForReal they cannot ascend and will die for real]]) and what happens if the parfait is eaten in excess.

Removing Wham misuse. Wham is for something that comes completely out of left-field (no plot set up or foreshadowing) and changes what the plot was permanently. It should never be mixed up with Plot Twist or The Reveal. Cleaned up the Little entry and removed speculation about Summer's fairy tale identity (don't get me wrong, I jumped to the same conclusion myself, but it is just a guess right now).

** Little isn't there in the last scene and Ruby is very quiet. What the exact reasons are for both go unexplored at the episodes end.
