** The only thing that people don't like about "Forever Red" is the continuity problems that result from it, mostly of the account of the Machine Empire's defeat not lining up with the events of ''Zeo'' or ''In Space'' at all. This comes from the writers inserting references to the "Scorpion Rain" fan hoax which supposedly bridged the ''Zeo'' and ''Turbo'' seasons.
** "Where did the powers come from", though, is more of fans not doing the research. Nothing was ''ever'' shown happening to the Zeo Crystal and a big question in ''Turbo'' was "where'd ''all'' the Zeo stuff go?" Though the Turbo powers were destroyed alongside the Power Chamber, "True Blue to the Rescue" reveals that Storm Blaster was able to provide Justin with a spare morpher, so Lightning Cruiser was obviously able to do the same for TJ. Adam was able to use his Mastodon Power Coin in ''Space''.

** In turn, the Red Rangers especially Jason and Tommy fear Serpentera.

* EarthShatteringKaboom: Serpentera can use its laser cannon to destroy any planet in sight. Venjix's plan is to use the Zord to destroy the Earth in an effort to avenge Mondo.
* ExplosiveInstrumentation: Cole destroying Serpentera from the inside out causes Venjix's cockpit to explode as he admits his failures.

** Only Cole was the one who took on and destroyed Serpentera with Venjix in it while the other 9 Red Rangers remained on the moon instead of contributing like providing backup from the Astro Megaship Mark II.

* RedIsHeroic: As the title suggests, the focus of the episode are the franchise's red rangers ([[LongBusTrip save for Rocky]]).

In many stories, some characters enter the story, serve their role, and move on without any fanfare. If they have served their purpose and exit the story, then it's not a What Happened To The Mouse situation just because there isn't some final "where are they now" information given. This trope is for cases where a character simply disappears without reason or acknowledgment by the rest of the cast.

* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Several Cogs are knocked around without being destroyed right before the fight with the generals and aren't aboard the ''Serpentina'' when it gets destroyed, making it possible not ''all'' of the Machine Empire remnants are wiped out if no one finished off those Cogs.

Adam was able to use his Mastodon Power Coin in ''Space'', though it still had issues so its entirely possible the original power coins were repaired between seasons.

1. A trope doesn’t have to be justified - it’s just there. 2. An explanation is not the same as a justification.

* YourSizeMayVary: Somewhere between ''[[Series/PowerRangersZeo Zeo]]'' and ''Wild Force'', Serpentera went from "make the Rangers' Megazords look dinky" size to normal Megazord size. Justified since Serpenterra's original counterpart [[Series/GoseiSentaiDairanger Daijinryu only appeared in Dairanger]] and the Power Rangers crew had to redo Serpenterra from scratch.

* TheMentor: Jason serves as this to Cole when they fight Venjix. Whereas most of the other rangers destroy their opponents by double-teaming them, Jason deliberately lets Cole get the final hit in on Venjix rather than trying to hog the glory for himself. [[RealityEnsues Ends up backfiring]] when Venjix escapes and activates Serpentera.
