Ron and Diane have had their baby, a boy named John; however, they told no one until a few weeks after he was born. Ron brings him to work but there are too many visits from his co-workers who want to see the baby, so he heads up with his son to the fourth floor. Up there he discovers it is being renovated and starts working on it. When the work crew arrives, he makes them an offer: let him do all the renovations, and they can have a vacation and still get paid for it.

Leslie has an upcoming meeting with Grant Larson from the National Parks Service. She wants him to help her make Eagleton Hills a national park.

Leslie holds a press conference to announce the Unity Concert, and she has a ceremony to knock down the wall between Pawnee and Eagleton. However, when two men break the first section of wall, hundreds of bees fly out. Most of the victims in the audience are Eagleton members, and it is assumed by both sides that Leslie arranged this as a practical joke against Eagleton. When she visits the victims in the hospital the next day to apologize, a film crew catches her in the act, and Councilman Jamm, one of the few Pawneeans who got stung, uses this as an opportunity make Leslie look bad. A fight breaks out and Leslie gets a black eye.

When Leslie meets with Larson, he has to turn down her request, but he does offer her a job with the National Parks Service office in Chicago. While the job sounds great, she tells Larson that she has to finish her work in Pawnee.

Tom is recruiting businesses to support the Unity Concert. One of the businessmen is impressed by Tom and wants to invest in him. Ben and Tom discuss possible ventures; Tom wants to start a restaurant, but Ben feels he should stick with something safer. Tom agrees, but when they present their idea to their investor, Tom switches at the last minute and proposes a restaurant. The investor agrees; Ben is not happy that Tom bailed on their original idea but presents himself as Tom's second investor.
