Ann has begun working with Chris on the diabetes PSA, but his enthusiasm is getting to her. She just wants to finish, but he wants the shoot to be perfect. He spends all day doing countless takes trying to get the PSA to be absolutely perfect, making Ann wonder why she even dated him in the first place.

* AgeGapRomance: Tammy 1 (Ron's wife) was a candy striper when Ron was born... and helped deliver him.

* CrazySurvivalist: Ron's mother Tamara has some shades of this. She has a whole room full of guns.

* GargleBlaster: The Swanson family's homemade mash liquor. According to Ron, it can burn warts off of mules, melt a snail's shell off, and its only legal use is to strip paint off boats. As Leslie and the others go over Ron's purchasing history, Ron expands on his history with Tammy 1. She had been present throughout most of his young life: she delivered him as a baby, was his teacher, and she even took his virginity. However, she was cold and controlling, which forever turned Ron off to blonde women after their divorce. Tammy 1 shows up and gives an intimidated Andy and Leslie orders and tells Ron that she will need control of his accounts in order to help him.

Ben meets again with Tom and Jean-Ralphio. He can't get through to them that they have to stop spending so much money. After he looks at the books, he tells them they need to downsize and keep better records, and most importantly, they need revenue; otherwise, they'll be bankrupt in a month. Tom and Jean-Ralphio still don't take him seriously and he leaves.

* HiddenDepths: Basketball player Detlef Schrempf is a savvy business man, despite what Tom and Jean-Ralphio think.

* TheStoic: Tammy 1 is intimidating and stone cold. April comes to admire her for this.

Leslie, April, and Andy visit Ron's mother, Tamara, and she agrees to help them get rid of Tammy 1. She accompanies them back to the Parks Department, where she proposes a drinking contest, using the highly alcoholic Swanson family's homemade mash liquor. Whoever wins gets to keep Ron. This is not what Leslie had in mind, so she joins in to keep Ron at the Parks Department, but the liquor quickly makes her too drunk to continue. April tries to sub in for Leslie, but she can't even handle one sip. Ron finally steps in to end this, grabbing the entire jug and chugging the remaining liquor in one go. He sends his mother back to the farm and kicks Tammy 1 out.

Out of desperation, Leslie decides to try to enlist Tammy 2's help in getting Ron back. Tammy 2, however, is just as afraid of Tammy 1 as Ron is (as Tammy 1 was also her teacher and attacked her acid) and can't help. Andy then has an idea.

Leslie is excited for the "Battle Royale", the yearly budget meeting where each city department argues for its budget. Leslie's secret weapon is Ron, who stares down members of other departments during their arguments until they back down.

When she goes to see him, he tells her that Tammy One is auditing him. He says it's just another way to control him. Leslie recruits April and Andy to help her rescue Ron.

Tom asks for Ben's accounting help with his business. At Entertainment 720, Ben is appalled at the amount of money Tom and Jean-Ralphio are spending.

As Leslie and the others pore over Ron's paperwork, Tammy shows up. She gives an intimidated Andy and Leslie orders and tells Ron that she will need control of his accounts in order to help him.

A week later, Ron shows up to work with his mustache shaved and wearing a conservative shirt. He explains to Leslie that Tammy One has moved in with him and converted his bank account to a joint account. Even scarier is Ron's new enthusiasm for his job.

Ann has been working with Chris on the [=PSA=], but his enthusiasm is getting to her. She just wants to finish, but he wants the shoot to be perfect.

Whoever wins gets to keep Ron. This is not what Leslie had in mind, so she joins in to keep Ron at the Parks department. When Leslie can't handle any more, April subs in for her. Unfortunately, she can't even handle one glass. Ron finally steps in to end this, chugging the entire jug. He sends his mother back to the farm, and kicks Tammy out.

Chris finally gets a take he's happy with (after seven hours).

Leslie is preparing for the "battle royale": a big meeting between all departments where they argue over funding. Ron's intimidating presence and libertarian beliefs are necessary for the Parks Department to succeed in getting more funds over other departments, but he's too wrapped up in the tax audit served to him by his first ex-wife, Tammy 1. Leslie, Andy and April help Ron but discover he has few actual receipts, just notes of purchase that he wrote himself and photographs of gentlemen's agreements. He does, however, have large amounts of gold that he has buried all over Pawnee. Ron also explains that Tammy 1 had been present throughout most of his young life: she delivered him as a baby, was his teacher, and she even took his virginity. Tom asks Ben to look over the finances of his company, Entertainment 720. Ben discovers that Tom and Jean-Ralphio are wasting large amounts of money on a frivolous office decorations, giving employees high salaries with full benefits, and paying basketball players to just hang around and party with them. Making things worse, they aren't actually making any real revenue either. They ignore Ben's warnings that the company will go bankrupt in a month. Tom later apologizes to Ben after discovering that he was right.

Ann asks Chris to film a quick Public Service Announcement about diabetes, but the overly-enthusiastic Chris spends all day doing countless takes trying to get the PSA absolutely perfect, making Ann wonder why she even dated him in the first place.

Tammy 1 is horrified at Ron's recordkeeping and demands access to every part of his life for the audit. Tammy 1's strict nature intimidates everyone into following her orders, which impresses April. Over the course of the next week, Tammy 1 moves back in with Ron and assumes complete control over him. Ron shaves off his mustache, becomes much more peppy and personable, and refuses to do anything without Tammy 1's approval. Leslie needs Ron to be his usual gruff self for the battle royale and confronts Tammy 1 about the audit, which she admits is fake - she's actually trying to figure out where all his buried gold is.

Tom apologizes to Ben after discovering that he was right about Entertainment 720's financial situation, but he's not sure what to do.

Leslie tries to get Tammy 2 to help, but even she is scared of Tammy 1, who was also Tammy 2's teacher and attacked her with acid. So Leslie decides to ask Ron's survivalist mother, Tamara for help and she agrees. Tamara challenges Tammy 1 to a "prairie drink-off", using the highly alcoholic Swanson family mash liquor. Whomever wins the contest will get to take Ron back with her forever. Leslie enters the drinking contest to save Ron from his mother and ex-wife, but the liquor immediately makes her too drunk to continue. Ron, finally fed up over people controlling him, chugs the jug dry and tells both Tammys to leave him alone.
