During a department meeting, Ron grumbles in pain, revealing he's been suffering a toothache. He takes out a pair of pliers and begins pulling the tooth out himself, to the horror and disgust of the rest of the department. He reveals to the camera crew later that it was a prank, as a dentist had removed the tooth the previous day, but clarifies that it's important to "demonstrate to your co-workers that you are capable of withstanding a tremendous amount of pain", as well as finding the sight of Tom fainting funny.

Andy and April invite everyone to a fancy dinner party at their place. The invitations include things for each person to bring to the party. Ben has been asked to go back to Indianapolis, but Chris has also asked him to stay and work for him. He asks for Leslie's advice. Although Leslie wants Ben to stay, she is hesitant to say so outright, disappointing him and leaving him conflicted over which job to take.

Ann goes to a bar for a singles' mixer event. She runs into Donna there. Donna doesn't want to socialize with Ann because she's competition, but when Ann proves to be awful at connecting with guys, Donna helps her out.

At the party, Leslie finds out that the party is actually a surprise wedding ceremony and April and Andy are tying the knot. Leslie's not on board with this, as they've only been dating for a month and she fears they're moving things too fast. She expresses her concerns to her friends, but they're not worried about it and Ron tells her it's not her place to interfere.

* CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming: The ''entire'' episode is basically one long list of these:
** The entire ceremony is really heartwarming. Both Andy's vow as a DeclarationOfProtection and April saying she never could really hate Andy.
** April's sister and Andy's grandma making a speech about their support over their decision. [[NotSoStoic The former actually made April cry!]] Really, outside of Leslie, everybody's reaction to the engagement was to be happy for the young couple.
** Andy playing a song for April.
** April hugging Leslie and thanking her for being in the wedding, similarly, Leslie deciding she should support her friend's engagement.
** Ben deciding to stay in Pawnee, and it's clear Leslie was important to the decision.
