->''"I guess I kind of hate most things. But I never really seem to hate you. So I wanna spend the rest of my life with you. Is that cool?"''
-->-- '''April Roberta Ludgate'''

During a department meeting, Ron grumbles in pain, revealing he's been suffering from a toothache. He takes out a pair of pliers and begins pulling the tooth out himself, to the horror and disgust of the rest of the department. He reveals to the camera crew later that it was a prank, as a dentist had removed the tooth the previous day, but clarifies that it's important to "demonstrate to your co-workers that you are capable of withstanding a tremendous amount of pain", as well as finding the sight of Tom fainting funny.

Later, Andy and April invite everyone to a fancy dinner party at their place. The invitations include things for each person to bring to the party. Ben has been asked to go back to Indianapolis, but Chris has also asked him to stay in Pawnee and work for him as the Assistant City Manager. He asks for Leslie's advice. Although Leslie wants Ben to stay, she is hesitant to say so outright, disappointing him and leaving him conflicted over which job to take.

Ann goes to a bar for a singles' mixer event, ready to try getting back into the dating game and move on from Chris. She runs into Donna there. Donna doesn't want to socialize with Ann because she's competition, but when Ann proves to be awful at connecting with guys, Donna helps her out.

At the party, Leslie finds out that the get-together is actually a cover for a surprise wedding ceremony and April and Andy are tying the knot. Leslie's not on board with this, as they've only been dating for a month and she fears they're moving things too fast. She expresses her concerns to her friends, but they're not worried about it and Ron tells her it's not her place to interfere.

Tom gets Andy to choose him as best man but is upset when Andy asks several other friends to be his best man as well. He tries to throw a bachelor party but Ron stops him.

Leslie tries to talk sense into April but April tells her not to worry. Leslie calls Ann to tell her what's happening. She wants Ann to come by and kiss Andy again to stop the wedding from happening. Ann refuses but nevertheless feels down about this. When she tells Donna about April and Andy's impromptu wedding, she wants to leave, but Donna convinces Ann to stay at the mixer instead of going home and feeling sorry for herself. Deciding to stop dwelling in the past, Ann enjoys herself at the mixer and gets several phone numbers.

Andy announces to the guests that this is a wedding. Everyone gathers for the ceremony, which goes off swimmingly. Although Leslie plans to object during the ceremony, she can't bring herself to do it and comes to accept the marriage. Andy and April officially become husband and wife. Some of the guests give speeches, and then everyone dances while [=MouseRat=] plays. After the ceremony, Ron consoles Leslie, who admits to still being worried that April and Andy are acting impulsively, and tells her that "all you can do is find someone you like and roll the dice". April privately tells Leslie how much she appreciates her, flattering Leslie. Andy makes a speech to the guests, where he calls Tom his "best" best man, much to Tom's delight, and then tells the crowd that life is short and he and April simply did what made them happy. Taking Andy's advice, Leslie asks Ben to stay in Pawnee, and he surprises her by revealing that he has already accepted Chris' job offer.

!!Tropes:
* AnAesop: There is no standard blueprint to love and marriage. Marriage is a matter of the heart and not age or relationship length.
* AntiquatedLinguistics: Played for laughs, Andy tries to speak fancily to invite people to the wedding, but it's clear he has no idea what he has been saying, to the point where nobody gets it. Also counts as YeOldeButcheredeEnglishe and PurpleProse, for being over-complicated and unnecessary.
* AmicableExes: April and her two gay ex-boyfriends apparently did patch things up later on, as they serve as her bridesmaids.
* BerserkButton: Ron gets enraged when Chris brings a vegetable loaf instead of cake to the party, to the point where Leslie has to lead him out to calm down.
-->'''Ron:''' So not only does this [vegetable loaf] exist, but you have deprived everyone of cake?!
* BreakUpBonfire: Ron, upon realizing he had divorced Tammy 2 a second time, gets giddy at how he can burn up another "ex-wife effigy".
* CallBack: Andy gets married wearing the Reggie Wayne Indianapolis Colts jersey April gave him in "[[Recap/ParksAndRecreationS02E12 Christmas Scandal]]". Since the jersey was the first gift she ever gave him, this is surprisingly appropriate.
* DeclarationOfProtection: Andy's wedding vow to April.
* DIYDentistry: Invoked by Ron, who pretends to pull out a tooth himself with pliers at a meeting. He'd actually gotten the tooth pulled out by the dentist the day before, but couldn't pass up the opportunity to freak everyone else out.
* EmbarrassingMiddleName: April's middle name is Roberta.
* EpicFail: When tasked with bringing a cake to the party, Chris instead brings a vegetable loaf. After being castigated by Ron on how he not only ignored what was asked and therefore deprived all other partygoers of cake, even Chris seems to realize he fucked up.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: Chris' long positive speech is enough to creep Orin out and make him immediately try to leave.
* FourthDateMarriage: April and Andy have only been dating for about a month and decided to get married on a whim. Lampshaded by Ben.
-->'''Leslie''': Andy and April are about to get married.
-->'''Ben''': Wow. My Brita filter's older than their relationship. Wait, should I change my Brita filter?
-->'''Leslie''': I don't know. It depends on how frequently you use it. Stay focused, okay?
* {{Goth}}: April's weird friend Orin scares off everybody he talks with. Except Chris, who is so positive that ''he'' scares ''Orin'' off.
* HilariousInHindsight: In his vows to April, Andy calls himself "the luckiest guy [[Film/GuardiansOfTheGalaxy2014 in the galaxy]]."
* IChooseToStay: Ben decides to take the job Chris offered.
* IllTakeTwoBeersToo: Donna, while coaching Ann, orders two shots. Ann declines to have one, but Donna says they're both for her and proceeds to drink them both at once.
* LastWishMarriage: Conversed by Leslie, who wonders if Andy and April are getting married because one of them is terminally ill like in ''Literature/AWalkToRemember''.
* LongingLook: Ben looks longingly at Leslie.
** Andy has this almost to the point of tears as April enters and walks down the aisle.
* MachoMasochism: Ron likes to show how he can withstand a lot of pain by (pretending to) pull his aching tooth out.
* MenAreTough: Self-parodied. In the opening, Ron yanks out a painful tooth with a pair of pliers he keeps with no apparent discomfort. He then reveals in an interview segment that it was already properly removed at the dentist's the day before and he's just messing with everybody. It's averted with Tom, who faints at the sight of it.
* TheMentor: Donna becomes this to Ann when it comes to flirting.
* MoodKiller: When the animal control guy tries to release doves on the wedding, while everybody is clapping, one bird turns out to be dead and it kills the mood. At least for a bit.
* NoSocialSkills: Played with - Ann has no idea how to flirt with men.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Not even the EmotionlessGirl April can stay distant and snarky during her wedding; she even cries when her sister makes a speech for her and Andy.
* RealMenEatMeat: More like "Real men don't eat vegetables", as Ron is visibly shaken when he sees Chris brings a vegetable loaf instead of cake.
* SarcasmBlind: Andy does not get April being smarmy with Leslie.
-->'''Leslie:''' Are you pregnant?
-->'''April:''' Yes.
-->'''Andy:''' (shocked) Yes?
-->'''April:''' No.
** And then again when Leslie asks if she has a terminal illness.
* ShipTease: When Harris laments to Ben that all the good women are taken, Ben looks longingly at Leslie.
* ShipperOnDeck: Leslie for April/Andy, but she does not want them to get married out of fear they are rushing things. Ron turns out to be this as well and when he speaks to Leslie, he actually supports their relationship and decision.
* ShotgunWedding: Brought up. Leslie initially wonders if Andy and April are marrying because they're expecting.
* ShoutOut:
** Leslie mentions the plot of the movie ''Film/AWalkToRemember'' as a reason to get married young.
** Tom remarks that Andy and April are having a secret wedding "just like Creator/JuliaRoberts", to which Ron asks, "Is that that toothy girl from ''Film/MysticPizza''?"
* SideBet: In TheTag, upon receiving a video message from April and Andy on their honeymoon, Ron remarks to Leslie, "Well, they're still together. You owe me twenty bucks."
* WeddingEpisode: April and Andy invite their family and friends to their house for a dinner party and surprise them by having their wedding ceremony. Instead of classic wedding hijinks, the humor is derived from the fact that this is an impromptu, surprise wedding for a young couple that has only been dating a month.
