* OverlyLongGag: The stationmaster Applejack and Fluttershy meet once reaching their destination, after making his ominous speech about uncharter terrain and wild beasts, laughs maniacally while retreating to his booth. And then he laughs again. And again. When he finally goes inside and closes the door, after a Beat he peeks through the window in order to laugh yet again before pulling down the shutter.

* IdiosyncraticWipes: As is usual for many songs in this show, Autumn Blaze's expository one use imaginative scene transitions, like a couple butterflies crossing the screen, Nirik fire engulfing it, Autumn tossing bread across, a shower of Foal's Breath flowers, a flyer fluttering, a swinging chandelier, etc.

* TheDissenterIsAlwaysRight: In the backstory, a particularly nasty argument turned destructive, and the Kirin tried to prevent a reoccurrence by bathing in the magical Stream of Silence, which rendered them speechless and suppressed their emotions. But Autumn Blaze found she couldn't stand living this way--and when she stumbled upon a flower that could reverse the effects of the Stream of Silence, she tried to share it with the rest of the village. The other Kirin rejected this, and gave Autumn Blaze the ultimatum to either bathe in the Stream again, or be banished. Autumn chose banishment. In the episode proper, Applejack and Fluttershy arrive and attempt to reconcile the two sides--but even they're divided, with Applejack taking Autumn's side while Fluttershy agrees with the rest of the village. In the end, Autumn Blaze wins the rest over by demonstrating how to go full Nirik without becoming a danger to herself or others, thanks to healthy anger management techniques.

The example involve too much fantastical elements to be called "realistic".

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: In the end the idealistic argument that positive emotions are worth the cost of negative ones isn't actually the only thing that convinces the Kirin to take the cure (Autumn Blaze had given that argument many times after all), but rather it is Autumn Blaze proving that the Nirik form can be controlled enough to not cause damage.
