** The mechanics of how the akumas work seems to be a bit different here. The akuma causes the elevator's power to fail to trap her before forcing itself through the shut door and into the umbrella while Aurore notices it and frantically tries to keep it away. In later episodes akuma do not have any ability to influence the environment or force their way to victims at all, and have to usually approach unnoticed to get into an object and things like doors and other objects can and will be able to block them and they will be avoided in some cases. In addition Hawkmoth seems to influence some kind of mind control over Aurore as he seems to convince her that she's been slighted and to seek revenge and Aurore just repeats what he says word for word until she's turned into Stormy Weather. Later episodes would never show him having this kind of direct influence in his victims again, and while he can be very persuasive people can and will reject him if they truly don't want to be akumatized.

Plot happens.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: Aurore loses the weather girl vote and turns into a supervillain to exact revenge. After being calmed down, the heroes just leave her behind. Unlike similar competitions in other works, there is nothing to suggest the contest was rigged against her, and thus not much more the duo can do, beyond making sure she’s okay.

* RewatchBonus: Alya spins tale after tale while she and Manon are trapped inside the frozen carousel, seamlessly blending them together in an enticing narrative in order to keep the girl calm. This talent of Alya's will become important in later episodes.

Noted this, due to the deluge of fanfiction which reveals the contest was rigged against her either by the network (which seems unlikely, as it would lead to a scandal if it got out) or her enemies (which again, would be noticeable, since he’d be calling from the same phone/number). Personally, I think she just lost because she wasn’t popular, like most real contestants in contests.

Just because we don't get a POV shot of his night vision doesn't mean he doesn't have it anymore.

** It's established that Cat noir sees in the dark, but [[ForgotAboutHisPowers he does not use that power later]].

near as we've seen, anyway

Added DiffLines:

** The ThemeMusicPowerUp moment uses ''both'' Cat Noir and Ladybug's themes. Future episodes would only use Ladybug's, even when Cat's the one getting the action moment.

** Despite the episode beginning at Marinette's house, her bedroom is nowhere to be seen, and she and Manon are watching TV in the living room. In pretty much any other episode, whenever Marinette is in her house, she spends most of the time in her bedroom.

** When the akuma enters Aurore's umbrella, only the tip of it turns black; all other episodes would have the whole object blacken when corrupted.
