* GrumpyOldMan: One constantly irks Carly out; he even has angina.

* ContinuityCavalcade: Because the apartment residents stay in the Shay residence because of the cooling, several familiar faces show up...
** Carly's old boyfriend, Griffin, from iDate a Bad Boy.
** Lewbert and Mrs. Benson are uncomfortable from their break up in iHurt Lewbert.

** Dr. Dresdin, Spencer's doctor from "iFight Shelby Marx" who prescribed him pills that led to many side effects, comes back.

** Lewbert while still his intolerable and rude self, correctly points out using the generator inside is a safety hazard because it can fill the building with carbon monoxide.
* LiteralSoapboxSpeech: Carly stands on the kitchen counter to get everyone's attention and give a RousingSpeech that they should appreciate each other in the one working and air conditioned apartment.

* BareYourMidriff: Downplayed; Carly's pink/black plaid tank reveals a small sliver of her stomach.

* JerkassHasAPoint: As paranoid and pushy as Mrs. Benson can be, she is totally correct in pointing out how a massive heat wave is very fatal to elderly people. And since the Shay apartment room is the only place in all of Seattle to still have powered air, she is justified in bringing some elderlies over to protect them.

A heatwave strikes Seattle and the power goes out in the Shay's apartment, so Spencer hooks up a Norwegian air conditioner and power generator to help Carly, Sam and Freddie get through. But since apartment is now the only place in Seattle with power and air conditioning, it ends up attracting hundreds of citizens who also want to get out of the heat.

* VisualPun: Carly and Spencer's apartment number 8-C is the only one left with a working "AC" (air conditioner).

For Spencer, who was trying to be calm in order to impress Chuck’s sister, this ends up being his RageBreakingPoint, and he starts yelling insults at Chuck.
