* {{Squee}}: When Mabel and Grenda find out that Candy is crushing on Dipper, they give an extraordinarily loud squeal of delight. The scene cuts to Dipper and Stan in the hot tub, and the screen shakes from the force of the girls' combined squeal. Stan thinks the noise is coming from coyotes.

* BrokenAesop: The episode appears to be trying for "Being a playboy is wrong"; however, despite Dipper's conversations [[AndThatsTerrible constantly being referred to as "flirting" and thus unfair to the girls]], the only shown example of Dipper's "flirting" is an amiable conversation around thirty seconds long while Dipper helps a girl with her camera, and the closest thing to flirting we hear about is him talking with one of them on a log flume. Also, Dipper only gets the emails so he and the girls could keep in touch and continue talking. Therefore, instead of actually teaching the above aesop, the episode looks like it's telling people off for... daring to be social with more than one member of the opposite gender.

Therefore, instead of actually teaching the above aesop, the girls being mad at Dipper for socializing with girls makes the episode looks like it's telling people off for... daring to be social with more than one member of the opposite gender.

* ItsASmallWorldAfterAll: Dipper play-flirts with the girls to boost his confidence and get over Wendy. After voicing his concerns, Stan assures him that, realistically, he's unlikely to reencounter those girls again. So his behaviour should be fairly innocent and consequence-free. Sure enough, the same girls do meet Dipper again at the exact same spot. Just as Dipper was with Candy, who had a crush on him at the time and was hoping the moment would start a relationship between the two. The girls are, understandably, offended by Dipper's tongue-tied response and Candy is left heartbroken.

* JerkassHasAPoint: Even though Stan is portrayed in the wrong for convincing Dipper to be more confident on the road trip. He isn't wrong and he was, in fact, more helpful than Mabel in getting Dipper to move on from Wendy. Dipper did become more confident around girls and did learn to accept Wendy's rejection. He just didn't expect Candy to fall for him, or expect to see the other girls.

* LaughOfLove:
** When Dipper gives a girl he meets at Log Land a "log on a stick", she giggles before giving him her contact details, and she goes on a log ride with him, which she describes as "romantic" (though the latter incident is only mentioned later in the episode).
** Darlene laughs when she's around Stan. She's exploiting it to make him think she's in love with him, in order to lure him into a trap.

* FreezeFrameBonus: A careful look at how Darlene is pinned shows that, unless she is MadeOfIron, that Paul Bunyan's foot is crushing her abdomen. This would be a death sentence for normal spiders, and could be one for Darlene.

* KarmaHoudini: Besides Stan being saved, Darlene practically gets away with what was implied to have been killing ''many'' men. She even says that as long as there's gullible men she'll be free to feed on them. With that said, she is trapped under Paul Bunyan's boot, and perhaps if no men come up the mountain then she'll starve.

* StrawmanHasAPoint: Dipper's actions are treated as wrong and Stan's advice towards flirting is treated as being "kind of a jerk" (even though it was actually [[AndThatsTerrible really mild and harmless]]), but Stan's right in that the more you do it, the better you get at it. In addition, Stan encouraged Dipper to show confidence, which was exactly what Dipper lacked around girls.

Jerkass Has a Point is when the Jerkass is deliberately proven and pointed out as having a justifiable stance in-seriers, Strawman Has A Point is when the character the audience is not supposed to agree with actually has good reasons for his stance. This entry appears to be closer to Strawman Has A Point.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: The girls who get mad at Dipper in the episode. Considering they only had simple, non-romantic conversations with him, gave Dipper their numbers to keep in touch, and really had no expectations to see him again, the idea that they would get mad at him for going on a date with another girl after he talked with them is absolutely ridiculous. This causes Candy's more justified hurt to ''also'' become unsympathetic, because Mabel, Candy, and Grenda's anger at Dipper is based more on the other girls' overreaction and misunderstanding than anything Dipper did wrong, but they still get mad at ''Dipper'' for this, with Mabel even hissing "''Betrayer!''" at him when he tries to apologize.
