** Ed normally goes along with pretty much everything Eddy says but when Eddy initially offers him the chance to be made into "sumo champ of the world" as part of the scam, Ed, in a rare moment of independent thinking, declines with a [[BluntNo Blunt "Nah"]]. ''Twice.''

Added DiffLines:

* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: This is pointed out in-universe by Double D. He knew from the start that Eddy's sumo scam never had a chance, due to sumo wrestling being a career exclusive to only Japan and them having no way of actually getting Jimmy there themselves. Instead of learning anything from this like Double D hoped though, Eddy just gets mad at him for knowing it wouldn't work and not telling him, thinking he was laughing at him behind his back.

Added DiffLines:

* IntentionalWeightGain: Jimmy eats a lot of peaches and cream so he'll get big enough to be a sumo wrestler. This backfires due to sumo wrestling only being done in Japan.

* TreeBuchet: Eddy, Ed and Jimmy attempt to catapult to Japan with a trebuchet made from a light post. Unfortunately, Jimmy is too heavy and ends up falling on the Eds.
* WeightTaller: After being fattened up, Jimmy is about ten feet tall as well.

to:

* IgnoredAesop: A CentralTheme of the episode is Eddy refusing to learn anything in the long-term and only being interested in making money now. He refuses to take notes on Double D's lectures and after he finds out that his sumo scam was doomed from the start he gets mad at Double D for not telling him right away instead of learning something from it. His stubbornness and refusal to learn from his mistakes ends up getting him and Ed hurt by the end of the episode, and the only thing he "learned" turned out to be an idea for a new scam.
-->'''Double D:''' [[LampshadeHanging You haven't learned a thing, have you, Eddy?]]
* LaserGuidedKarma: The slingshot faliure failure is this for Ed and Eddy.

* SpoofAesop: Right after Double D states his [[DisappointedInYou disappointment in Eddy]] for not learning anything, Eddy claims he just learned something after seeing Jimmy exercise. This being that they open up a weight loss clinic for their next scam. Ed states the lesson he learned is that "Eddy is the man with the plan".

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: Several examples --
** While sumo-wrestling has become popular all over the world, to the point of where there are plenty of sumo-wrestlers from outside of Japan[[note]]And this would include sumo-wrestlers who aren't fully Japanese or, in the more extreme cases, have no Japanese ancestry at all[[/note]], pretty much anything and everything else to do with sumo-wrestling is really only a thing in Japan, which is also the only country where sumo-wrestling can be pursued on a professional level. So, long story short: if Jimmy (who's an American) really was serious about wanting to become a sumo-wrestler, he'd have to move to Japan in order to do so.
** When the Eds try simply mailing Jimmy to Japan (by way of stuffing him into the nearest mailbox), his now-immense proportions bust the mailbox (which Double-D says was bound to happen)--Double-D also notes that that postage to Japan alone could easily cost up to $200.
** When Jimmy, Ed and Eddy try to slingshot themselves to Japan, Jimmy falls off halfway through and crushes Ed and Eddy under his immense weight (but thankfully they're okay).
** Due to their failure to send Jimmy to Japan for the latter to be famous, Sarah (acting as Jimmy's personal trainer) puts her best friend through an intense weight-loss regime to help him lose all the weight he gained through Eddy's scheme.

* CouldHaveAvoidedThisPlot: Double D could have just pointed out that sumo wrestling is only done in Japan at any time, but doesn't until ''after'' Jimmy has been fattened up because he thinks Eddy will learn something from it. Naturally, he doesn't, and even berates Double D for his silence.

** Pretty much anything to do with sumo-wrestling is really only a thing in Japanese culture--and while there actually plenty of sumo-wrestlers from outside, which includes those who aren't fully Japanese or have no Japanese ancestry at all, the only way that someone like Jimmy (who's an American) would be able to become a sumo-wrestler would be to go to Japan, especially since it's the only country in the world where sumo-wrestling can be pursued at a professional level.

'''Airdate''': November 15th, 2002

In this episode, Jimmy wishes that he was a superstar and Eddy tries to make Jimmy's wish come true by turning him into a sumo wrestler. Once he successfully does so, Eddy must now find a way to get Jimmy to Japan since, as noted by Double-D, that's the only country where sumo wrestling can be pursued on a professional level.

----
!!This episode contains examples of:
* BalloonBelly: Jimmy swells to absolutely gargantuan proportions after Eddy makes him overeat on peaches and cream. He's such an immobile blob of fat that he can't even walk.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: A drink variation--while in traction in Double-D's room (which the sockhead has turned into a makeshift hospital suite), Eddy's revealed to hate tea, which Double-D is forcing him to drink.
* EpicFail: In an attempt to get to Japan much quicker, Jimmy and the Eds (minus Double-D) decide to slingshot themselves all the way there using a lamppost. It ends up backfiring ''HORRIBLY'' on all three of them when Jimmy ends up stopping mid-air and crashes toward the ground, crushing Ed and Eddy in the process.
* FiveSecondForeshadowing: When Eddy gives Double-D one last chance to join him, Ed, and Jimmy as they slingshot their way to Japan, Double-D simply tells him to "break a leg." Cue the above Epic Fail and Eddy ends up breaking more than just a leg...
* GooGooGetup: For most of the episode, Jimmy is dressed up in nothing but a diaper as part of his sumo-wrestling training. Partially due to [[NationalStereotypes the stereotype that sumo-wrestlers' mawashis look like diapers]], but mostly because it amuses Eddy.
* {{Hypocrite}}: In the end, Eddy (after fattening up Jimmy) tries to proceed with charging Jimmy money for a weight loss clinic.
* LaserGuidedKarma: The slingshot faliure is this for Ed and Eddy.
** [[HonestJohnsDealership Eddy]] for trying to trying to exploit Jimmy's weight in order to make money--and even if the plan had actually ended up working, [[AdultFear Jimmy's parents would probably be wondering what happened to their son.]]
** And [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking Ed]] for being the one [[NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished who came up with the idea for Jimmy to be a sumo wrestler in the first place]].
* OnlySaneMan: Double-D's in this position, once again.

* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Jimmy had a giant fridge full of peaches and cream even before he was informed Eddy wanted to size him up.
** Rolf's is meat, and knowing that he keeps a whole shed full of it, Eddy sends Ed to steal it and use that to feed Jimmy so that the latter can achieve becoming sumo-size.
