It's Scrooge's birthday, and everyone but the triplets leave to let Scrooge celebrate alone. Beakley and Webby explain that Scrooge hasn't enjoyed his birthdays since his loyal butler and excellent party planner Duckworth passed away. However, Huey plans an elaborate birthday party, tasking Dewey with providing the music as [[Music/DaftPunk DJ Daft Duck]], and Louie with inviting "Duckburg's Elite" as party guests. But when the party magician Nik Nokturne performs his act, Scrooge mysteriously disappears and all the doors lock. Despite Louie's suggestions to call Beakley or Donald to help them, Huey insists that this is a "Locked Room Mystery" and they need to find out who did it by themselves. After Nik Nokturne is revealed to be a Beagle Boy in disguise, the boys find out that the other guests are Ma Beagle, Mark Beaks and Flintheart Glomgold, who all have their own animosity for Scrooge. However, when Huey accuses any of them with kidnapping Scrooge, they vanish one by one, until only Nik Nokturne is left; it is revealed that he summoned a demon, who then turns against him, throws him out of the manor, and then attacks the kids. As the kids flee from the demon, they find a secret room where Scrooge is hiding and watching the whole party on a screen, laughing his tail feathers off. It is revealed that the demon is actually the ghost of Duckworth, who got summoned by Nik Nokturne during the magic act, hid Scrooge and then created the whole "Locked Room Mystery" to teach the kids and the villains a lesson. Scrooge forgives Huey for his selfishness as long as he promises he won't try to throw any more parties.

* NiceMeanAndInBetween: Huey is the mean one in this episode. Louie is the in-between one. And Dewey is the nice one.

* BaitAndSwitch: Beakley criticizes Webby for bringing a crossbow on their annual survivor skills trip. Webby then retrieves a set of bow and arrows, which Beakley approves of.

** Webby goes on a secret training on an island where children fight against nature as well as each other. She asks the triplets to tell her story if she doesn't come back.

* JerkassBall: Huey grabs it by unilaterally deciding to plan out the entire night and refusing to consider anyone else's thoughts or feelings on the events that transpire. He does eventually have a JerkassRealization.

** When Louie questions why Duckworth attacked them with an axe, Scrooge says it was clearly just a fake ghost axe. Cue Duckworth trying to hide a ''very real'' axe.

* CanonCharacterAllAlong: The ghost who appears in the intro during the part about "or rewritting history" is revealed to be Duckworth.

* HeroAntagonist: As it turns out, Duckworth sealed the party away from Scrooge and took him out of the mansion to relax; Huey realizes he wouldn't have done anything were it not for him setting up the party to begin with.

* LightsOffSomebodyDies: Whenever Huey names a suspect to Scrooge's disappearance, the lights go out and that person is gone when they turn back on, replaced with a card that says "Try again". Downplayed in that they don't actually die.

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Subverted; Scrooge thanks Huey for the party because it gave a reason for Duckworth to return, to protect Scrooge from his Rogues Gallery and the party antics. But he and Duckworth warn Huey to never host a party again.

* PaperThinDisguise: All of the guests are in paper-thin disguises. Yes, it was a costume party, but it didn't take much to figure out who was who. Averted with Black Art Beagle, though, who is not obviously a traditional Beagle Boy, and covered up the traditional domino mask with a larger mask.

* RunningIntoTheWindow: Beaks hacks into the mansion's security camera and finds a footage of Scrooge running into a glass door thinking it was open. He finds this hilarious that he prepares to leave so he can upload it on the internet... only to [[EpicFail run into a non-glass, completely opaque door]].

** When Dewey hands the cell phone to Huey, his mask reads "THE DUKE IS BACK!"

* WrongGenreSavvy: Huey is all too familiar with Locked Room Mysteries, but he fails to identify the right culprit multiple times. Also, he knows the party should end when the right culprit is revealed, but doesn't know what to do after Nik Nokturne (aka. Black Art Beagle) is "revealed" as such.

* BirthdayHater: Downplayed in Scrooge's case; he doesn't hate his birthday, but he doesn't like the fact that he's older than everyone he knows being celebrated - he prefers a single day of doing absolutely nothing. As a result, everybody gives him space so he can have the day to himself (for example, Beakley and Webby use his birthday as an annual survival skills trip, and Donald simply fled in terror).

* Foreshadowing: The demon is hinted to not be as harmful as it seems shortly before the reveal of who it is. Namely once the armor (and Dewey's mask) is cut away it ceases to attack using the axe, opting to seemingly nonsensically carry the boys for a short distance before outright vanishing.

* MonsterFacade: The terrifying demon that Black Art Beagle apparently summoned chases after the triplets. After they end up in Scrooge's hiding place, the demon reveals itself to be the ghost of Duckworth, working for Scrooge all along. He explains his behavior by having a "flair for the dramatic" - basically just trolling the triplets.

* TheButlerDidIt: Parodied brutally twice. First, when Black Art Beagle is revealed as the criminal, it is done in the most obvious, over the top way, complete with him being visible in position summoning insane magical power while Huey fails to realize he's forgotten a suspect, as Black Art Beagle is just supplementary to the plan. Secondly? Well...Duckworth did it (ie, he hid Scrooge away to relax from the noise Huey's party was causing).

* EvilGloating: Parodied: Black Art spills their entire plan while Ma Beagle keeps begging him to shut up.
* EvilIsPetty: While Ma Beagle wants to steal the deed to Duckburg and Glomgold wants to kill Scrooge, Beaks came to the party merely to find embarrassing footage of Scrooge to post online and humiliate him.

** Huey's word search contains several Scrooge related words, but the top line also holds the solution to the mystery - [[Main/TheButlerDidIt the butler did it]]

* HarmlessVillain: Ma wonders how Scrooge can even consider Mark a nemesis given that his big plan was to hack the mansion's security footage and spread a video of Scrooge accidentally walking into a glass door.

** One of Scrooge's paintings on the wall features him signing a deed while a beagle shakes his fist behind him, foreshadowing Ma's reason to get involved.

* TheButlerDidIt: Parodied brutally twice. First, when Blackarts Beagle is revealed as the criminal, it is done in the most obvious, over the top way, complete with him being visible in position summoning insane magical power while Huey fails to realize he's forgotten a suspect, as Blackarts Beagle is just supplementary to the plan. Secondly? Well...Duckworth did it (ie, he hid Scrooge away to relax from the noise Huey's party was causing).

* EmoTeen: Nik Nokturne, aka Blackarts Beagle, even being motivated largely by showing Ma Beagle his magic skills so she takes him seriously.

* FunnyBackgroundEvent: Blackarts Beagle revealing himself as a villain requires a good minute of set-up in the background, while Huey fails to realize it.

* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: Blackarts Beagle really, really wants to be a MagiciansAreWizards - style EvilSorcerer, but he's a complete klutz who is no good at either the illusions or the actual magic.

* TheManInFrontOfTheMan: Blackarts Beagle was set up to be this to show his mother that the magic classes he took were not a waste of time and decided to use his magic to make Scrooge and the other villains disappear, including his own mother with a skull ghost. Averted when the skull ghost turned out to have been Duckworth.
* MonsterFacade: The terrifying demon that Blackarts Beagle apparently summoned chases after the triplets. After they end up in Scrooge's hiding place, the demon reveals itself to be the ghost of Duckworth, working for Scrooge all along.
