It's Scrooge's birthday, and everyone but the triplets leave to let Scrooge celebrate alone. However, Huey plans an elaborate birthday party. But when Scrooge mysteriously disappears and all the doors lock, it becomes a mystery to find out who did it, and everyone's a suspect.

!!Tropes
* AlliterativeTitle: Parodied; the words "mystery" and "manor" already alliterate with [=McDuck=], but the title uses the words [=McMystery=] and [=McManor=] to exaggerate it.
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: Ma Beagle is at [=McDuck=] Manor to steal the deed to Duckburg, Glomgold is there to kill Scrooge, and Mark Beaks is there to... find embarrassing footage of [=McDuck=] to post on the web.
* BackFromTheDead: In a sense. Duckworth is literally summoned back from the dead, but as a ghost. Since he doesn't disappear come the next morning, it seems he will continue to haunt [=McDuck=] Manor.
* BigBadEnsemble: Three of Scrooge's mortal enemies show up to his birthday party: Ma Beagle, Flintheart Glomgold and Mark Beaks. Their motivations are to [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking steal the deed to Duckburg, kill Scrooge, and post an embarrassing video of Scrooge online]], respectively.
* BirthdayHater: Downplayed in Scrooge's case; he doesn't hate his birthday, but he doesn't like celebrating the fact that he's older than everyone he knows - he prefers a single day of doing absolutely nothing. As a result, everybody gives him space so he can have the day to himself (for example, Beakley and Webby use his birthday as an annual survival skills trip, and WesternAnimation/DonaldDuck simply flees in terror).
* BlackComedy:
** Webby goes on a secret training trip on an island where children fight against nature as well as each other. She asks the triplets to tell her story if she doesn't come back.
** When Louie questions why Duckworth attacked them with an axe, Scrooge says it was clearly just a fake ghost axe. Cue the axe proving to be ''very real''.
* TheButlerDidIt: Parodied brutally twice. First, when Black Arts Beagle is revealed as the criminal, it is done in the most obvious, over the top way, complete with him being visible in position summoning insane magical power while Huey fails to realize he's forgotten a suspect, as Black Arts Beagle is just supplementary to the plan. Secondly? Well...Duckworth did it (i.e., he hid Scrooge away to relax from the noise Huey's party was causing).
* CallBack: Mark Beaks gets dropped off a building just like in his debut episode. This time it's by Duckworth's ghost, and it's only a fall of a meter or so.
* CanonCharacterAllAlong: The ghost who appears in the intro during the part about "or rewrite history" is revealed to be Duckworth.
* ContinuityNod:
** Huey recalls the time Ma Beagle [[Recap/DuckTales2017S1E2DaytripOfDoom kidnapped them]], which was at least two InUniverse months prior to this episode.
** Mark Beaks' Digital Hi-Five app returns.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Duckworth's ghost can assume a demonic form with a large, black, ethereal body and a skull face with horns and glowing eyes - but he's a kind and loyal servant to Scrooge.
* DeathByAdaptation: After much speculation over the character's absence in the reboot from promotional materials, it is ultimately revealed that Duckworth has passed away in this version.
* DoWrongRight: Beakley criticizes Webby for bringing a crossbow on their annual survivor skills trip. Webby then retrieves a set of bow and arrows, which Beakley approves of.
* DontBeRidiculous: Glomgold was never trying to kidnap Scrooge -- that's ridiculous! He was trying to ''kill'' Scrooge.
* EmoTeen: Nik Nokturne, aka Black Arts Beagle, even being motivated largely by showing Ma Beagle his magic skills so she takes him seriously.
* EnhanceButton: Invoked by Huey in an attempt to be dramatic; when trying to get a closer look at someone in the background of Beaks's photo, he commands "Enhance," to which Dewey steps in and uses the pinch-to-zoom feature on the phone touchscreen.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Louie thinks it isn't fair for Huey to force Scrooge to participate in a birthday party he clearly doesn't want and doesn't hesitate to call Huey out on his ItsAllAboutMe attitude.
* EvilGloating: Parodied; Black Arts spills their entire plan while Ma Beagle keeps begging him to shut up.
* EvilIsPetty: While Ma Beagle wants to steal the deed to Duckburg and Glomgold wants to kill Scrooge, Beaks came to the party merely to [[InstantHumiliationJustAddYoutube find embarrassing footage of Scrooge to post online and humiliate him]].
* ExpressiveAccessory: Dewey's DJ Daft Duck helmet has a display that shows various graphics to show how he's feeling, such as an exclamation point, emoticon-like faces and a few phrases.
* FailedASpotCheck: After the suspects disappear one by one, Huey fails to realize that they have one suspect left, Black Arts, who proceeds to summon a demon while Huey remains oblivious.
* FamilyFriendlyFirearms: Webby's kit for a survival trip includes a crossbow, [[BowsVersusCrossbows which she switches out for a regular bow (at her grandmother's insistence)]], and [[RefugeInAudacity a fragmentary grenade]].
* ForeShadowing: The demon is hinted to not be as harmful as it seems shortly before the reveal of who it is. Namely once the armor (and Dewey's mask) is cut away it ceases to attack using the axe, opting to seemingly nonsensically carry the boys for a short distance before outright vanishing.
* FreezeFrameBonus:
** The smoke machine is called "[[{{Pun}} Mist Opportunity]]"
** When Dewey hands the cell phone to Huey, his mask reads "THE DUKE IS BACK!"[[note]]A reference to Huey's meltdown in "[[Recap/DuckTales2017S1E7TheInfernalInternshipOfMarkBeaks The Infernal Internship of Mark Beaks!]]" when he declares himself "the duke of making a mess!"[[/note]]
** Huey's word search contains several Scrooge related words, but the top line, read backwards, also holds the solution to the mystery - TheButlerDidIt
* FriendlyEnemy: Sort of. The villains talk about Duckworth positively and claim he threw amazing parties.
* FunnyBackgroundEvent: Black Arts Beagle revealing himself as a villain requires a good minute of set-up in the background, while Huey fails to realize it.
* GhostButler: A literal example being the one who moves things around and turns off the lights.
* GoKartingWithBowser: The triplets invite the wealthy elite of Duckburg to the birthday party. It just so happens that the wealthy elite of Duckburg is made up of some of Scrooge's worst enemies (Glomgold, Ma Beagle and Mark Beaks).
* GoneHorriblyRight: Black Arts Beagle was trying to summon a ghost from the grave that would do his bidding. He actually succeeded in doing the first part right, but the ghost he summoned just so happened to be the ghost of Duckworth, Scrooge's most loyal servant, who immediately turned on Black Arts Beagle to help his old master instead.
* HarmlessVillain: Ma wonders how Scrooge can even consider Mark Beaks a nemesis given that his big plan was to hack the mansion's security footage and spread a video of Scrooge accidentally walking into a glass door.
* HeroAntagonist: As it turns out, Duckworth sealed the party away from Scrooge and took him out of the mansion to relax. Huey realizes he wouldn't have done anything were it not for him setting up the party to begin with.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Huey cares less about making Scrooge's birthday enjoyable for him and more about establishing a rep as a great party planner/mystery solver for himself. He admits it at the end and apologizes.
* ItsTheBestWhateverEver: Scrooge happily declares this his best birthday ever, since he got to see his enemies humiliated and he got his favorite butler BackFromTheDead.
* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: Black Arts Beagle really, really wants to be a MagiciansAreWizards - style EvilSorcerer, but he's a complete klutz who is no good at either the illusions or the actual magic.
* InsistentTerminology: Scrooge mentions that he hates birthday party magicians more than birthday parties. Huey then calls Nik Nokturne an "illusionist".
* JerkassBall: Huey grabs it by unilaterally deciding to plan out the entire night and refusing to consider anyone else's thoughts or feelings on the events that transpire. It gets so bad that ''Louie'' of all people calls him out on it. He does eventually have a JerkassRealization.
* LightsOffSomebodyDies: Whenever Huey names a suspect in Scrooge's disappearance, the lights go out and that person is gone when they turn back on, replaced with a scroll that says "Try again". Downplayed in that they don't actually die.
* TheManInFrontOfTheMan: Black Arts Beagle was set up to be this to show his mother that the magic classes he took were not a waste of time and decided to use his magic to make Scrooge and the other villains disappear, including his own mother with a skull ghost. Averted when the skull ghost turned out to have been Duckworth.
* MeaningfulName: Black Arts Beagle uses the black arts.
* MixAndMatchWeapon: Glomgold, in preparing to murder Scrooge at the party, tries [[DuctTapeForEverything duct taping]] a chainsaw and a battleax together. This doesn't turn out well.
* MonsterFacade: The terrifying demon that Black Arts Beagle apparently summoned chases after the triplets. After they end up in Scrooge's hiding place, the demon reveals itself to be the ghost of Duckworth, working for Scrooge all along. He explains his behavior by having a "flair for the dramatic" - basically just trolling the triplets, as well as scaring them to teach them a lesson about humility.
* MythologyGag:
** The security system in [=McDuck=] Manor is labeled "DT-87", referring to the year the original WesternAnimation/{{DuckTales|1987}} aired.
** Scrooge stole the town deed from Grandpa Beagle, the former leader of the Beagle Boys. He, of course, stole the deed from the town first.
** Black Arts Beagle. His name sounds like Blackheart Beagle. Blackheart is Grandpa Beagle's name in the comics.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Subverted; Scrooge thanks Huey for the party because it called Duckworth back from the dead, who rescued Scrooge and gave all his enemies a right scare, in case they ever thought to try and enter the mansion again. But he and Duckworth warn Huey to never host a party again.
* NiceMeanAndInBetween: Huey is the mean one in this episode, caring more about [[ItsAllAboutMe his own rep as "best party planner"]] than whether Scrooge actually wants a party or not. Louie is the in-between one, trying to be the voice of reason. And Dewey is the nice one, just providing some silly entertainment as the DJ.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Dewey assumes the persona of DJ [[Music/DaftPunk Daft Duck]].
** It also qualifies as a ShoutOut to a certain [[WesternAnimation/DaffyDuck waterfowl character]] from [[Creator/WarnerBrothers the friendly competition]].
* NotHyperbole: Louie says "It pains me to say this, but maybe we should call Beakley for help!" He then gets an actual headache.
-->'''Louie:''' Ooh, ow! Doing the right thing stings...
* NotMeThisTime: None of the villains in this episode were responsible for Scrooge's disappearance since they had other goals.
* OnlySaneMan: Louie is a ZigZagged example in this episode. On the one hand, he's the one suggesting that the triplets stop forcing Scrooge to celebrate his birthday with a party and, after he gets kidnapped, try to convince Huey they should call Mrs. Beakley or the police for help. On the other hand, he was the one who invited Scrooge's RoguesGallery to the party in the first place (though he claims he only did this because he only had an hour to gather "Duckburg's elite").
* PaperThinDisguise: All of the guests are in paper-thin disguises. Yes, it was a costume party, but it didn't take much to figure out who was who. Averted with Black Arts Beagle, though, who is not obviously a traditional Beagle Boy, and covered up the traditional domino mask with a shadowy hood.
* PassThePopcorn: The boys find Scrooge watching surveillance footage while eating popcorn.
* APlotInDeed: Grandpa Beagle stole the deed to Duckburg, only for Scrooge to steal it back and lease it to the city council. Ma Beagle comes to steal the deed again in revenge.
* PragmaticVillainy: Ma Beagle states she wouldn't abduct Scrooge, noting he is more trouble than he is worth (which is really saying something considering how much Scrooge is worth).
* RewatchBonus: According to Webby, it sounds like Scrooge went through a period of depression and self-isolation after Duckworth died, losing interest in things he once enjoyed like celebrating his birthday. On first viewing, it's just a sad but commonplace tragedy. The series finale, however, reveals that what happened to Duckworth and to Scrooge as a result was ''exactly what someone planned''.
* RiddleForTheAges: What exactly led to Duckworth's death was never explained.
* RuleOfThree:
** There are three special guests at Scrooge's party: Ma Beagle, Mark Beaks and Flintheart Glomgold. All three are suspected of kidnapping Scrooge.
** Huey calls a "staff meeting" 3 times in the episode.
* RunningIntoTheWindow: Beaks hacks into the mansion's security camera and finds footage of Scrooge running into a glass door thinking it was open. He finds this hilarious, and he prepares to leave so he can upload it on the internet... only to [[EpicFail run into a non-glass, completely opaque locked door]].
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: As soon as Donald realizes it's Scrooge's birthday, he runs outside to his car and takes off.
* ShoutOut: Black Arts Beagle's alias is [[WebVideo/NightMind Nik Nocturn]].
* TheStarscream: Black Arts Beagle was planning to summon a demon to get rid of Ma Beagle's enemies, and then ''Ma Beagle herself''. Ironically, said demon (actually Duckworth's ghost) immediately turns on him.
* SuddenlyShouting: Duskworth does this to Huey, after Scrooge tells him to never throw another party in the mansion again, and Huey asks if he can do holiday parties instead of birthday parties.
-->'''Duckworth:''' Mr. [=McDuck=] just said (''changes into his demon ghost form'') '''[[PunctuatedForEmphasis NO! PARTIES!]]''' (''changes back'')
* SureLetsGoWithThat: Duckworth's reaction when Scrooge assumes that his axe was actually a ghost axe and therefore harmless.
* SuspiciouslySpecificDenial:
-->'''Webby:''' Hey, guys! Every year, I brush up on my survivor skills on a secret island-\
'''Beakley:''' ''Ahem!''\
'''Webby:''' I-I mean, a, a, a ''regular'' island where young warriors definitely don't combat the forces of nature and each other. ''(a grenade rolls out of her pack; she kicks it away)'' [[ImplausibleDeniability Y-you know, it's girl stuff.]]
* UndyingLoyalty: Literally. Duckworth has zero problem with getting summoned back to the realm of the living, since it means he gets to serve Scrooge again (and snark at Beakley for being, in his view, inadequate at the job compared to him).
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: Neither Webby nor Beakley seem to be all that surprised at being greeted by Duckworth's ghost upon their return home, Webby saying hello as she goes by him and Beakley (after admittedly widening her eyes for a few seconds in shock) walking right through him after he snarkily chides her for leaving her post.
* TheVoiceless: Zigzagged with Dewey. He can't speak with the helmet on, but his keytar is stocked with a few samples of his own voice.
* WhamShot: A double whammy of sorts. It is revealed at the beginning of the episode that Duckworth, Scrooge's loyal but snarky butler, had died sometime before Scrooge's nephew started living with him. At the end, he reveals himself as a ghost and has since looked over the manor like before.
* WhatTheHellHero: Louie calls Huey out on his ItsAllAboutMe attitude throughout the night, focusing on throwing a great party instead of caring about the problems at hand.
* WrongGenreSavvy: Huey is all too familiar with Locked Room Mysteries, but he fails to identify the right culprit multiple times. Also, he knows the party should end when the right culprit is revealed, but doesn't know what to do after Nik Nokturne (aka. Black Arts Beagle) is "revealed" as such.
