* BalefulPolymorph:
** Discord did this to a great many ponies. During her adventure in Canterlot, Applebloom ''[[NoodleIncident somehow]]'' ended up being unwillingly transformed into a Sea Pony. Even Applejack isn't sure how that even happened.
** [[spoiler:This is Kabuto's fate during the Wedding Arc: his mutations meltdown and [[KarmicTransformation turn him into an Earth Pony.]]]]

** There's also the Dark World!Mane Cast vs. Discord's [[NinjaPirateZombieRobot army of]] {{Mook}}s. It's so one sided Rarity and Applejack manage to have CasualDangerDialog while kicking flank. Special note goes to the [[EldritchAbomination Shadow-Beast-Of-The-Third-Unresolved]] (which was probably the most ''normal'' thing there) and the giant-cyborg-spider-vampire neither of which even get to ''attack'' before getting taken out by Pinkie Pie pulling an OffhandBackhand with her ''party cannon'' and Apple Pie using a LogicBomb respectively.

** And then in Dark World 29, we find out that [[spoiler: through the actions of Nightmare Paradox, ''[[UpToEleven every recursive fanfic of Dark World is technically canon]]'' as a part of the GroundhogDayLoop she created.]]

** [[spoiler:Maasailand is DarkIsNotEvil: [[UpToEleven The Country]]. [[RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver The red and black color-scheme]] and [[ScaryScorpions scorpion motif?]] In their culture they're symbols of love and peace and the Brotherhood of the Scorpion are actually ''pacifists''. Even their Manticores are cute, docile, and vegetarians. It just happens that symbols of evil in most cultures happen to be symbols of good and peace in theirs.]]

* AndManGrewProud: The cataclysm that destroyed the Second Age is long forgotten and what details of the age survive are morphed heavily by the myths they've become.

* AdultFear:
** While just another bullet in a long list of horrors, [[spoiler: Trixie fighting her awakening as an Element of Magic]] laser targets that special nerve of paranoia and fear for those who those who ever had to deal with that sort of emotional crisis [[MissionFromGod for]] [[ComingOutStory whatever]] [[ConscienceMakesYouGoBack reason.]]
** There's also the fact that [[spoiler:Rainbow Dash now fears Scootaloo's real parents will come and take her away from her.]]
** Bright Eyes' Gaiden Story contains a lot of this, particularly from Lancer's perspective. His wife lost his memory, forgetting who he is and their time together and, as a result of a complete accident, he has to live in constant fear of her being lynched for the disaster with the possibility of ponies taking RevengeByProxy on their ''children'' (which ''almost'' happens on the day his second child is born).
*** There's also Bright Eyes' recovered memory of being lost in the woods as a filly and [[spoiler:nearly being killed by a pack of coyotes]] while her parents had no idea where she was. [[spoiler:Thank goodness that deer spirit showed up when she did...]]
** [[spoiler:Dark World!Fluttershy's ''entire'' situation in "Fluttercruel's Punishment". No matter how much she wants to protect her daughter, others rightfully desire to punish the child for her crimes. In the end, Fluttershy is forced to admit her daughter was a psychopathic SerialKiller and a monster who harmed others, and allow her to be punished for her crimes.]]
** The entirety of the Rumors Arc deals with the CMC being put in life threatening situations while having to save the world.

** The G1 ''MyLittlePony'' series pony, Mimic. What is she like in this timeline? The ''only'' mortal pony to ''ever'' injure Discord and the reason he's missing that tooth by kicking him thousands of times in the face at ''the speed of sound!'' Sure, she died horrifically afterwards, but give the girl some credit!

* AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents: Twilight and Shining Armor's, at least their mother. For one thing, she published a book...about a ''[[HaremGenre Harem Comedy]]'' [[RecycledInSpace In Space]]. While Cadence and her hoofmaidens apparently enjoyed it enough that they all read it, Shining and Twilight are both humiliated by its mention (Shining more so for accidentally giving her the idea to put it in space).

** [[spoiler:Pinkamenia and Trixie's [[ImaginaryFriend Imaginary Friends]] return to snap them out of [[LotusEaterMachine Princess Gaia's spell]].]]

** Princess Celestia sings the G1 ''MyLittlePony'' theme song [[spoiler:to break Gaia's brainwashing on the foals that were once Ponyville.]]

** This universe's version of [[MyLittlePony Mimic]] was killed fighting Discord when he appeared in Equestria for the first time, knocking out his tooth in their fight. According to Princess Luna, she's the ''only'' one to ever successfully injure Discord in battle, and she didn't even have the Elements Of Harmony.

** It is confirmed in the Finale Arc (and technically the end of Mind Games arc) that [[spoiler: Fluttershy became an alicorn after the Elements of Harmony defeated her Nightmare form, though none of friends knows about this. The only exceptions are Pinkie Pie, becuause, well she's Pinke (The note she anonymously gave to Fluttershy instructed her to use "Gaia's power" to prevent Golden Tiara/Screwball from getting erased.) Applejack might have putted the pieces together (during her story, AJ's Dreams, her trip through the Truth and stopping her potential nightmare self, AJ was stated to ''not'' be surprised that her nightmare was turned into a ''little'' alicorn after being purified by the elments of Harmony). Twilight, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash gotten hints throughout about what Fluttershy became, but they did not put the pieces together (Rarity might've been the closest when she and Fluttershy had the talk during "Read it and Cry" chapte, but even then she dismissed the thougt for now.)]]

* BaitandSwitchTimeSkip: The reveal of the Draconequi in the Dark World timeline, for the first time appear not in flashback, was supposed to be this, with them seeming to have undergone serious changes...which actually aren't. Including Pandora wearing an eyepatch in ShoutOut to ''Webcomic/TheOrderOfTheStick''.

'''Shining Armor''': It's still bad flank I blew it up, right?

** Makarov has access to various types of it. [[spoiler:He plots to gas every dragon on the planet with some, and had already got rid of all the Changelings with it]].

** During the battle between Dark World!Spike and Rancor, Rancor says that Spike would make a good [[TheChosenOne Champion]] for her. Spike asks who'd want to be her champion and it cuts to a pony version of SelfDemonstrating/{{Lobo}} fighting [[Franchise/{{Superman}} Superstallion]] in a city, implying Lobo is one of Rancor's Champions.

*** [[spoiler:After her HeelFaceTurn in the [[BadFuture Dark World]], Twilight includes it in her WorldOfCardboardSpeech.]]

* DarkestHour: The ''chapter'' title of one of the chapters of the [[BadFuture Dark World Arc]]. And indeed it is.
