This example of French Eddie Murphy as Rafiki has to be said, because there might've have been many French moviegoers who were shocked at the fact that a Mauritanian filmmaker who voiced a wise baboon (who looked WAY older than Scar, but Rafiki's dubber was younger than Scar's) also voiced a comic relief donkey who was originally voiced in English by Eddie Murphy. And even though Murphy was born in 1961, Med Hondo was born almost 25 years older.

I needed to add this example of Yuji Mitsuya as Dr. Finklestein because, even though The Nightmare Before Christmas has been beloved in Japan, some Japanese people would probably be shocked at the fact that a Japanese voice actor known for dubbing comedic, panicky characters also voiced a strict mad scientist, yet the Japanese dubber looks nothing like Finklestein and BARELY sounds like the original English voice actor, William Hickey.

** No, Zoro is voiced by Gabriel Basurto and Bykuya is actually Christian Strempler. And Aloof Older Brother's aren't new to Basurto, his most famous role was Sesshoumaru from ''Anime/InuYasha''. Zoro is the role where he plays against type. And he ''nailed'' the role.
*** If you think of it, Chris Strempler ''is'' playing against type here to a degree. His most popular roles until then were the DeadpanSnarker Cam Watanabe from ''Series/PowerRangersNinjaStorm'' and Shiryu in the TV dub of Manga/SaintSeiya the Hades Saga.
** Even more so! Creator/RicardoMendoza is an expert in playing TheLancer or the NumberTwo (either HotBlooded or DeadpanSnarker subtypes). His role in ''{{Manga/Bleach}}''? Sousuke Aizen. It makes TheReveal so very ''weird'' to watch - specially because some fans were betting on him playing Renji instead.
