It can be jarring to see a kid beat up more burly men without breaking a sweat, especially when he usually doesn't condone violence. It's that sentiment that he shares with swordsman Kenshin.
* There were murmurs about blocking Tintin's entry into the Pantheon, mainly due to his [[Recap/TintinTintinInTheCongo adventure in Congo]]. The amount of blackface was enough to turn off many of his books. Ironically, the criticism lessened when it turns out that [[MexicansLoveSpeedyGonzales the DRC actually find it hilarious]].
* There was a time when he and Haddock agreed to star in a [[WesternAnimation/TheAdventuresOfTintin a motion capture animated film]]. While it didn't gain much popularity, the critics liked it well enough, UncannyValley aside. Many believed that the two should have been nominated for Best Animated Film.
* Tintin is responsible for foiling many plans of evil genius throughout his career, drawing the ire of Moriarty. This is exacerbated by the fact that not even successfully capturing the kid guarantees success. Tintin always has a knack for escaping his bonds.
* Spends some of his time in the House of Disguises due to a huge fanbase. The Belgian has made a history of pulling off some ridiculous disguises.
