* Born in the laboratories of Terra during humanity's slowly growing golden age, Vulkan was among the 20 genetically-engineered "sons" of the Immortal God-Emperor of Mankind, of which he was bred to be a successful general of his Great Crusade. When the Chaos Gods tampered with the Primarchs and spirited them to various corners of the galaxy, Vulkan appeared on the planet Nocturne, where he was raised by a blacksmith and slowly earned the respect of the locals, as his strength, intelligence and learning skills were seen as unique in his town. As he discovered that his home planet was a frequent raiding spot of the Dark Eldar, he was among the first in the planet to defy them as most of the inhabitants would hide rather than fight, which lead to a rally that would join him and repel the invaders. Since then, he would be a celebrated figure in the planet, until a cloaked stranger challenged him to a contest of champions to see who would serve the victor for eternity. On the last day, Vulkan was determined as the winner, but he kneeled to the stranger as he rescued him from near death by a volcanic eruption. The stranger was then found to be his father, the Emperor, reunited with his son.
** Following their meeting, Vulkan met his fellow Primarchs and was introduced to his legion, the XVIII Legion, otherwise known as the Salamanders. Many of the Emperor's sons are known to be brutal and ruthless but Vulkan was unique in that he has sympathy for human civilians and would not tolerate senseless killing as shown towards his arguments with Konrad Curze. He also has little mercy for human-xenos coexistence, stemming from past history with the Eldar. The Emperor trusted him in forging powerful weapons that would help them during the Great Crusade. In the following years prior to the Horus Heresy, he sensed an evil presence lurking in Horus, which lead to him siding with the loyalists as the Heresy began. His nature as a Perpetual would also be revealed with his brother Konrad tormenting him for days until he overpowered him and escaped. After several regenerations, Vulkan lived and returned to the Emperor on Terra where he would partake on the last battles of the Horus Heresy.
** By the aftermath of the Heresy, Vulkan lived but was horrified at the state of his legion, following the Isstvan V drop-site massacre. He would vow himself to leave the Imperium to let his Salamanders heal and would only return on the End Times. A decade after, he was spotted by the Inquisition singlehandedly defending a planet from an Ork invasion, of which Terra would be besieged by the largest Ork ''Waaagh!'' ever discovered. When convinced by the Inquisition and fellow Space Marine Chapters, he reluctantly joined and was a key player in the conflict as he was the only one who could match the large Ork known as The Beast in one-to-one combat. The last sighting of the Primarch was that he sacrificed himself to kill The Beast and end the Ork attack once and for all, which it did for a time. After the conflict, he is presumed dead but the Salamanders are determined to bring him back by collecting the Nine Artefacts of Vulkan, of which these artefacts are from a vault he personally built during the Horus Heresy. It is rumored that should all nine be collected, Vulkan would return.
* With the Imperium of Man slowly increasing their presence in the Pantheon, many would prophesize the return of the Primarchs, both Loyalist and Traitor, to finish their feuds and decide the fate of humanity within the Pantheons. Seeing as the conflict waged within the Horus Heresy has shown, such battles would be immense and leave little survivors. The Imperium's armies are slowly making their way into the Pantheons, but so has the Forces of Chaos, both from the [[TabletopGame/{{Warhammer}} fantasy setting]] and from the 41st Millenium. The prophecy would come to light when the first of the Primarchs ascended, and the loyalists were proud to see Vulkan rising into the Pantheon ranks. His ascension was marked by an enduring fire that trailed as he walked into the gates, the flames said to be a byproduct of his knowledge of the forge.
* Aside from being a general to his Legion, Vulkan was known as the Imperium's best blacksmith, forging the best and most powerful weapons ever wielded by humanity. It came with a price though, as after Horus' fall, he saw how even the best people can fall or even be tempted by fate. Seeing with how powerful and dangerous his weapons could be, he ordered the destruction of all his work, though some have preserved a few of the doomsday weapons and vowed to only be used when necessary. Vulkan's temple is a recreation of the Horus Heresy-era vault, where his weapons are on full display. He was displeased when the Pantheon chose this but was relieved when it was confirmed that none of the weapons were capable of being used in combat, that way no visitor would cause any harm by his own weapons. In addition, many would say that only from Vulkan's own hands can it give fire to a weapon, otherwise it may be a dud.
** The Emperor's gift to Vulkan is related not only to the forge but also to his deeds. When compared to the rest of his sons, Vulkan not only possesses the physically strongest build among his sons, but has the Emperor's compassion and empathy genetically built into him. Even Vulkan's decision to break down his weapons after the Heresy was because of said mercy from the Emperor. Despite having a charcoal-like skin, terrifying looks and constant usage of flamers, the Salamanders and Vulkan are among the nicest and merciful Space Marine Chapters in the Imperium, but do not take this mercy for granted. This is only applied to humanity; xenos and even humans who worship said alien beings will suffer from the Salamanders' wrath, as per the God-Emperor had intended.
* In the Pantheon, Vulkan's presence is of both warlike determination and stubborn defense. To every human, he will lay down his life to protect any human being from the most overwhelming of odds. The Salamanders are a testament to his personality, inheriting his tendencies the moment they were made into Space Marines. This has become a contentious point as many of the xenos races and Chaos forces have arrived while the Imperium tries to hold off the defense. He has no mercy towards both but has personal beef to two, Fabius Bile and Asdrubael Vect. The former was responsible for the senseless killing of many citizens on Terra after the Horus Heresy when the Emperor's Children invaded by sending their horrors upon the civilians, while the latter feeds on the souls of tormented innocents, those including Nocturne locals. His hatred is especially heavy on the latter when he heard that a Salamanders ship, ''Forgefather'', was pulled into Commorragh for his schemes later on in the 41st Millennium and has vowed to rid of his city in the Pantheon, of which the Dark Archon is willing to let him try, if he can.
** Not many people know this but during the Great Crusade, Vulkan has kept a secret of which he regretted killing a surrendering Eldar child while he was in a fit of rage. It is true that he and the Salamanders despise xenos but some xenos they have tolerated, the Eldar being among them. Eldrad Ulthuan is among one of the few Eldar who is willing to reach to humans, despite the xenophobia of the Imperium, and was able to help Vulkan in various events during the Horus Heresy, something that he owes personally to him. There are rumors that Eldrad is helping Vulkan and a portion of the Imperium lighten up to a few alien beings, particularly those willing to side with humanity against worse threats. A diplomat from the Alliance of Free Stars was able to reach to the Primarch and had talks of a temporary ceasefire between his battle brothers and the alliance. While it has worked with the Salamanders, the other Space Marine Chapters and Imperial Guard have yet to be persuaded of an alliance between other aliens, and in particular, one inhuman who would become one of the biggest detractors of the Imperium in the Pantheon.
** To say that Thane, the inhuman, dislikes Vulkan is an understatement. If anything, he detests most of the Imperium and the loyalists for their massive crimes, as he sees from their crusades and various actions to be on the verge of extreme. While he understands the situation that the Imperium is facing, he has not forgiven nor sees their actions as necessary in terms of survival. The Primarch is in bad terms with the inhuman but they both have a similar enemy in the form of Thane's father, Thanos. As the ''the'' galactic conqueror, the Mad Titan sees the Imperium as one of the last bulwarks defending humanity from extinction, a slowly decaying one at that, though he has a personal stake against Vulkan for being a Perpetual, as he detests immortals, likely stemming from his relationship with Lady Death. He has prioritized the Primarchs as one of the targets to kill and demoralize the Imperium before facing the Emperor and Vulkan is on that list. His only comment on Thanos is to see him try against his craft.
* Master of the Forge, Vulkan's title as a master blacksmith is of great contention as many in the Pantheon are known blacksmiths. When he is not in his temple resting or overseeing the Salamanders, he is seen in the Hall of Pantheon/{{Workmanship}} promoting blacksmith contests to see who can be the best at their craft. Among those who participate include Rodin, Hephaestus and Dyntos. Whenever there is a large spike of hot temperature reported within the Hall, the contest is held and the winners often change. The Primarch is seen as a worthy rival to the three blacksmiths but Hephaestus is especially curious of him, as not only is he named a bit after him, but his weapons and contributions to the Imperium has given him interest to his craft, since he is also capable of not using the doomsday weapons he forged, showing a level of restraint he has not seen among the Olympians.
** His mastery of the forge also gives him access to most fiery weapons within the Imperium and can use this to great effect in the Pantheon, making him and his legion one of the most feared fire-wielders. Many entities who have a feared affinity to fire have avoided the Salamanders but two entities in particular have been seen as victims of the Salamanders' purging: the Wendigo and the Thing. Both creatures have a fear of fire as said element is what kills them the best but the Wendigo in particular fears him as the creature has feared all fire-related deities in it's desperate attempt of survival. Perhaps fire itself has some form of significance when it comes to cleansing evil spirits and creatures, and that the Primarch is one of its heralds to cleanse such foul evil.
* The Salamanders' facial features often make them one of the scariest on looks alone, which helps their intimidation on the battlefield but is also feared by innocent civilians. Given that all of the marines in the legion are descendants of their Primarch via their geneseed, Vulkan's looks reflect on that. Despite their looks, they are very nice and are willing to protect civilians and innocents by any means necessary. This was the expected reaction when XCOM, the organization meant to protect humanity from extra-terrestrial threats, saw him for the first time, of which many marines and scientists refused to outright interact with him due to his looks. The leaders of XCOM and their commander are just glad that the Salamanders are on their side, and can help them in personal alien nest infestations, of which their armory is of good use to get rid of it.
* As Vulkan's stay in the Pantheon got longer, some deities have noticed a shift in the Primarch's attitude. When the Emperor gave permission from the Pantheon [[WebAnimation/IfTheEmperorHadATextToSpeechDevice to give (most) of the 41st Millenium a break]], Vulkan was not exempted, seen in his overly jolly attitude and often orkish fits. Some say that his nice attitude was ramped up, to the point of forgiving Magnus the Red, despite the latter being a traitor Primarch, and [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LyQtofedu4 crushing his spine by ''hugging'' him]]. In addition, his immortality has lead him to basically [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1_KJBq1AnQ die with little self-preservation]] and revive in a matter of minutes. The Emperor is aware of this, including his supposed "merging" with the Ork consciousness, which has led to the leader of the current Orks, Warboss Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka, to demand a challenge with him and even have a glance at his long-lost Ork incarnation as some rumors might say.
-->'''The Emperor''': [[AC:Fan-fucking-tastic. One boy is half-daemon and one half-ork. What an absolutely horrid way to get an extended family.]]
** One noticeable thing people have taken to heart is the Primarch's often goofy outlook in life, seeing things in a dumbfounded way that some would be shocked at how he is a son of the Emperor. He then formed a crusade consisted of gathering the various armies of the Imperium to march to Terra after his encounter with Magnus. The Pantheon seems to be no different to him, as he cannot distinguish the difference between most ''human'' armies and the various conflicts as to why most human armies are fighting against each other, and as a result, is seen attempting his "Bro-Trip Crusade" in the Pantheon with little results. That will not stop him though, no matter which human, he will convince them one way or the other.
--->'''House of Military and Warfare Rep.''': Vulkan with all due respect, not all armies are going to agree with your, "Crusade". There are a lot of wars, skirmishes and...
--->'''Vulkan''' Do not worry my dear Pantheon brother-friend, the people in the Pantheon needs to be informed of the Crusade, and soon all shall march to Terra. Then I will give hugs to all! For Friendship!
--->'''House of Military and Warfare Rep.''': Christ, can someone inform the Emperor?

** Partner: [[Pantheon/ElementsAndNatureOther [[Pantheon/ElementalPairings Moltres]]

Added DiffLines:

*** Having many phoenix motifs and all has given it some affinity with one of the Kanto region’s legendary birds, Moltres. Moltres, in turn, sees quite a bit of itself in Mokou, such as “dying” in order to recover their injuries (with Moltres diving into magma before rising & recovering, whil Mokou literally dies in order to revive thanks to the Hourai Elixir). With [[Pantheon/MedicalConditions Lady Eboshi]] already being Yveltal’s partner, Mokou would then offer to be Moltres’, which it more than gladly accepted. To Mokou, however, this partnership was mutual and friendly, as she had sought to be better allies with Yveltal more, but at least Eboshi is kind enough to let them hang out.
