When Jerry's body is transported back home, nobody noticed his killer snuck into the casket to feed on him. The coroner was visibly disturbed by what was left of Jerry, which he later describes as looking "like a vampire got to him".

** Talk about the Ultimate Spider; the General's the size of a Tarantula, they can jump like Jumping Spiders and also has their eyes, they can build webs the size of a full grown adult, and their venom is so potent it makes the venom of the Black Widow, the Brown Recluse, the Sidney Funnel-Web, and the Brazilian Wandering Spider look like a harmless sting from a wasp in comparison. Couple that with the aggression...
** It's established in the middle of the film that the spiders are basically immune to normal pesticide spray, only dying once they're doused with a powerful industrial grade acid. So in addition to being lightning fast, very aggressive and having a guaranteed killing bite, they also can't be killed unless you either burn them or get up close and squash them.
* When the entomologist investigates the spider's nest in Dr. Jenning's barn, he is amazed at the work they put in building up the webs. Cue a shot of a few dead animals stuck in the spider's webs which the spiders have fed on, including a rat...and a cat!

** Speaking of the spider webs in the movie, it should be noted that the squared orb webs (named like that since the main part is more like a square than an actual orb) found both in the Venezuelan jungle AND Dr. Jennings' barn respectively are nearly the size of an adult Human... and this was BEFORE the discovery of the Darwin's Bark Spider in Madagascar!
* At one point, the main characters find Irv and Blair Kendall dead on their couch in front of their TV with a bucket of popcorn. One leans in to inspect the faces of one of the corpses...AND A SPIDER CRAWLS OUT OF IRV’S NOSTRIL. Jesus, talk about a gross-out.
* The shower scene. What's worse than being ambushed by an incredibly deadly spider that could be hiding under your newspaper? How about being ambushed by an incredibly deadly spider while you're completely naked ''and'' squeezing your eyes shut to keep soap from running into them and not even noticing that it's on you because of all the running water...at least until you feel its legs tickling you in a sensitive place...
* The climax where Ross was knocked to the floor and saw the General slowly crawling on top of him. From his left foot and up to his leg. The General suddenly stopped by Ross' thigh for a minute, making it more tense on what it plans to do. Even more haunting is that this is the exact same thing that happened to Ross as a baby, leading to his arachnophobia.
** That same climax starts with Ross's house being overrun with spiders, guaranteed to make your skin crawl.

* The game's status bar features a portrait of your player character, like {{VideoGame/Doom}}'s Status Bar Face of Doomguy, and it will [[ShowsDamage change as you take damage]]. It starts of with a reasonably cheerful-looking exterminator, but as you take damage, his smile is replaced by an increasingly worried expression full of dismay, and he becomes more and more gaunt and pale, finally turning into a bare grinning skull covered in webs when you die.
* The game over screen for the game adaptation. A picture is displayed of your character where he's basically been overrun by spiders, and has webs in his nose. It's pretty freaky as a kid.
