The most noticeable examples include [[TheEveryman Chaewon]] (who was seen as being rather unremarkable and unapproachable outside of her performing skills early in the group's career, before she became more [[GenkiGirl outspoken]] and even [[TheGadfly rambunctious]] thanks to the influence of her members, especially her roommate Yena) and the younger members (e.g. Yujin who was initially presented as a [[PluckyGirl hyperactive]] [[BrattyHalfPint teenager]] eventually mellowed out into a more [[WiseBeyondHerYears introverted young adult]], while Wonyoung who was initially shown as a [[LonelyRichKid preteen]] [[FishOutOfWater overwhelmed]] by the experiences of the entertainment industry and [[NotAllowedToGrowUp babied by]] [[TheBabyOfTheBunch her older members]] became a [[WiseBeyondHerYears more outspoken]] extravert capable of interacting with even the most prominent industry legends.)

** To a lesser extent, Yuri and Hitomi are also considered as "weaker" teammates in physical competitions given that the former is self-admittedly bad at sports and the latter is often too light to even stand her ground. (They fare much better in games of mental skill and luck.) Nako, as well, is often at a disadvantage when it comes to missions of physical strength, for [[TeensAreShort obvious reasons]].

* Kwon Eunbi (권은비 / クォンウンビ) (born September 27, 1995, ranked 7th, Woollim Entertainment)

* ThoseTwoGirls: Early on, Japanese members [[SenpaiKohai Nako and Hitomi]] were often paired together not only in variety show appearances but also in line distributions in their discography due to similarly high vocal tones. Steadily being [[AvertedTrope averted]] in more recent comebacks.

* SurprisinglyGoodEnglish: Wonyoung surprised many international fans with how fluent her English pronunciation sounded, especially in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TKSnVSu5h4 this clip]]. She later stated on ''Problematic Men'' that she went to an English-based international kindergarten, but doesn't know English that well. By 2021 it has been widely accepted that she has the best proficiency out of the twelve and as of 2022, her skill has grown to a comfortable conversational level.
** Yujin, the honorary emcee of the group, also has [[https://twitter.com/radiant_YUJIN/status/1119647336966180864 decent English pronunciation]], but she admits that she's better at enunciating than ''comprehending'' the language. Also improved as of 2022 with her ability to confidently speak and sing in English.
** Chaeyeon who's admitted to taking English lessons more regularly than the others qualifies as well, [[https://twitter.com/i/status/1274217261796974593 especially in recent promotions]] where she's one of the main speakers in international videos alongside Wonyoung.
** Minju is slowly becoming known for this, having done English song covers with her friend Kriesha Chu as a trainee and also appearing as a special emcee for KCON NY 2019. * SurprisinglyGoodForeignLanguage: Aside from the aforementioned English speakers above, some members already had notably good grasps on their non-native languages:
** Chaeyeon is the best example, exhibiting knowledge of at ''least'' conversational Japanese as way back in Series/Produce48, which greatly helped the [[FishOutOfWater Japanese members]] adjust to the Korean language and culture more easily. This is the result of her taking Japanese classes at her company (WM) for at least a year prior to joining Produce 48 out of her own volition.
** On the other end, the three Japanese members (Sakura, Nako, and Hitomi) are frequently noted to pick up Korean proficiency very quickly, but in different ways: Sakura is said to understand Korean quickly based on context, while Nako is often praised for her noticeable lack of a "foreign" [[SugarWiki/SurprisinglyGoodAccent accent]] and Hitomi is said to have the best reading/writing comprehension out of the three. As proof of their [[CharacterDevelopment growth]], all three actively participated in the production of certain songs in their 2020 release ''Oneiric Diary'' — Sakura and Nako interpreted the lyrics of their title track (Secret Story of the Swan) from Korean into Japanese, while Hitomi ''wrote'' the lyrics for Merry-Go-Round in [[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome both the Korean and Japanese versions]].
** Yena is known to speak at least some basic to conversational Mandarin, most likely due to training from her agency (Yuehua Entertainment).
** Although all Korean members are taking Japanese classes as well, Yujin may be one of the more comfortable members with the language (aside from Chaeyeon and [[CaptainObvious the Japanese members, of course]]): in their Japanese TV/interview appearances, she's typically one of the few who do not seek the help of an interpreter, and she was mentioned by Hitomi as having been the singer for the demo of Merry-Go-Round's Japanese version during the ''Oneiric Diary'' recording.

* DreamTeam: Much like their [[{{Music/IOI}} predecessors]], they were a project group formed by the votes of the Korean viewing public (called "National Producers").[[note]][[HarsherInHindsight Somewhat a point of hurtful contention]] [[RiggedContest after the 2019 Mnet voting scandal]], though it has been confirmed that the girls had no personal knowledge of what happened behind the scenes.[[/note]]

* TrueCompanions: Their reality series IZ*ONE CHU is dedicated towards documenting the group's growth from [[RagtagBunchOfMisfits 12 skilled individuals who were brought together by chance]] into a [[DreamTeam highly synchronized/talented team that considers each other like family]].

* TotallyRadical: [[TheLeader Eunbi]] who was [[ChristmasCake born in 1995]] shows mild [[OneOfTheKids signs]] of this. She makes a lot of jokes and references that the younger kids don't understand, and members make it no secret about teasing her with her age or her attempts to seem younger.

* BrattyHalfPint: Yujin is the second-youngest member and is ''notorious'' for terrorizing her [[UsefulNotes/KoreanHonorifics unnies]], to the point of them considering her the top of IZ*ONE's hierarchy and [[CollectiveDeathGlare glaring]] when she denied it and insisted that she was very respectful of them all. Seeing how she was the one calling Yujin's bullshit out, [[ButtMonkey Yena]] seems to be the one who suffers under her the most. [[CharacterDevelopment She grows out of it as she got older]].
