From then on, there was an insane amount of mutation: soup became the Ultramarines' TrademarkFavoriteFood, gave them the nickname of "Soup-cookers" and then became one of the strongest Russian [=40K=] memes, to the point where [[JustForFun/EverybodyKnowsThat everybody knows that]] "In the grim darkness of the far future, a gorgeous soup has been cooked".[[/labelnote]]

This eventually mutated into Games Workshop sending assassins anytime they are mentioned. Somewhat less relevant with the release of 6th Edition, which while not bringing back playable Squats did deign to mention them in one fluff piece in the rulebook.
