* Brian Kinney on the first season finale of ''Series/QueerAsFolk'' weeps silently in the hallway of the hospital after Justin [[spoiler:is gay-bashed outside of his prom.]] Bonus points for the beautiful, bloodstained white tuxedo scarf that he is still wearing -- and [[spoiler:''continues to wear under his clothes for days following the incident.'' Oh my God.]]

* A ''female'' example on ''Series/{{NCIS}}'', when Gibbs gets blown up and is comatose. While every member of the team is moping, ActionGirl Ziva nearly gets into a CatFight with [[TheChick Abby]] after making a bad joke. Later on, they cut to her just staring into the bathroom mirror, stone-faced, as Abby and Ducky's recriminations play in voice-over and tears roll down her face. She breaks down even harder when [[spoiler:the time came that she brought Gibbs back to his old self]] both from [[spoiler:reliving the time he shot her brother dead and her grief in general of getting Gibbs to remember finally kicking in]]. When Gibbs is reliving his [[spoiler:family's death]], ''[[TheStoic Gibbs]]'' actually bursts into these. Good ''God'', this episode dehydrates the soul.

* In Series/AllCreaturesGreatAndSmall2020:

* ''Series/All My Children'': Cold, aloof hardass villain Adam breaks down weeping when his beloved baby son is kidnapped, in front of his ex-wife Brooke who sees his tears as evidence he's not beyond redemption. "He's all I have, Brooke," he sobs as she holds him.

*** The Ninth Doctor goes through a hell of a lot in his single season, from once again [[NotQuiteDead meeting the enemy he literally gave up everything to defeat]], to getting a [[HannibalLecture a verbal jab from a prisoner he's about to kill]], to seemingly watch Rose die ''twice'', and though his expressions of anguish are heart-wrenching, he doesn't break down crying. In all of his time onscreen, the Doctor cries [[SingleTear one single tear]]: for the loss of the Time Lords as seen in [[Recap/DoctorWhoS27E2TheEndOfTheWorld "The End of the World"]]. [[TearJerker And it is very well deserved]]. Nine definitely came close at the end of [[Recap/DoctorWhoS27E6Dalek "Dalek"]], just after he lowers the gun. He goes from raging about the Daleks to choking on his words in about five seconds, and it's very well done.

*** He was also clearly close to tears at the end of [[Recap/DoctorWhoS30E13JourneysEnd "Journey's End"]], [[Recap/DoctorWhoS29E13LastOfTheTimeLords "Last of the Time Lords"]] (during a particularly emotional scene between the Doctor and the Master), and [[spoiler:just before his regeneration in]] [[Recap/DoctorWhoS30E17E18TheEndOfTime "The End of Time"]].
*** The Doctor cries at the end of [[Recap/DoctorWhoS32E4TheDoctorsWife "The Doctor's Wife"]] as [[spoiler:the TARDIS' human form dies and disintegrates and she goes back to being a machine.]]

** There have been a few occasions that Siegfried has looked like he is on the verge of tears when yelling at his brother Tristan (when Tristan has really let him down). It is implied that Siegfried promised his dying father that he would bring Tristan up, and he regards Tristan's failings as a failure to keep his promise. Siegfried also becomes a bit teary when Tristan (finally) passes his exams, and when opening up to Mrs Hall about a friend who killed himself.
** Tristan cries after he discovers that he hasn’t passed his exams after all, and Siegfried had lied to him about his results.
