* WhenSheSmiles: Although Kohina trying to make herself smile has disastrous results, when she rarely naturally smiles it's absolutely heart-melting.

* AmusingInjuries: From Inugami turned into Smoothie with a blender to Shigaraki getting ''impaled'' with a spade, and more.

* BlackComedy: It has its moments. Notable is Kokkuri [[DrivenToSuicide putting up a noose]] in Kohina's backyard when he realizes he has absolutely no friends, or a light producing a rainbow after refracting off of Inugami's arterial spray.
* BokeAndTsukkomiRoutine: The humor has shades of this. However, Kohina and Kokkuri's roles are so vaguely defined that they often switch between them depending on the joke.

* CatsAreSuperior: Kokkuri and Inugami took turns drunkenly ranting about this trope after Kohina decided to pet a stray cat and said she was more of a cat person.
* CharacterFilibuster: Kohina delivers several, mostly about cup noodles.

* EarlyBirdCameo: While the first 2 chapters only show Kohina and Kokkuri, its anime adaptation Episode 1 also briefly shows Inugami and Shigaraki for foreshadowing before they are properly introduced later.

** Noelle, the lawyer's daughter in episode 12. In fact, she's so stereotypical that it annoys Kohina and Kokkuri.

* VomitIndiscretionShot: Which can be seen as combined with VomitDiscretionShot. We get to see Kokkuri and Shigaraki vomiting [[spoiler: after almost sharing the BigDamnKiss]], and their vomits were ''rainbow hued, complete with sparkles''.

** This is arguably the entire point of the series, being Kokkuri's attempts to break Kohina's stoicism and get her to "become a real human."

* SkinshipGrope: Tama and Inugami waste no time in feeling up [[spoiler: Kokkuri]] when they all go to the hot spring.

* TrueLovesKiss: When Kokkuri gets trapped in his female form, Shiragaki suggests him to try to break the curse with a kiss like in Literature/TheFrogPrince tale. Kokkuri obviously rejects the option. [[spoiler:And surprisingly, it works!]]

* TearJerker: Episode 10. A lady who's been waiting for a long time under an eternally red-leaved maple tree asked for help to find the man she's been waiting for. [[spoiler: Both the man and the lady's been dead for a long time, and it turns out that the man did not wait on her and instead asked to be reincarnated immediately. Into a maple tree. He's been with her all along, over all the years. Of course, at the end of it, the usual MomentKiller kicked in...]]

** In general, the series runs on this. For instance, Shigaraki just gave his monthly donation to an orphanage, creating a very heartwarming moment. Then he revealed that he's the reason why those kids became orphans.

* MagicFeather: Kokkuri gives the lawyer in episode 12 a yellow ribbon so he'll have the confidence to talk to his daughter. [[spoiler: It's actually enchanted so that the daughter will be able to see her dead father's ghost.]] Afterwards, she keeps it as a memento of her father's love.

* {{Tsundere}}: Jimeko, to a ridiculous degree. She's even referred to as a tsundere by the narration.
** She's also a {{deconstruction}} of the trope: not only does she come off as an ordinary {{jerkass}} to everyone (and thus alienating the entire class), but also she fails to earn Kohina's friendship, only provoking mild irritation in her. And earns an uppercut for her efforts.

* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Kokkuri, who's had so many names he's lost track of which is his real one.
