Say someone is talking about their stamp collection, and you get sick of it and say, "Why don't you marry it?" Or say, "You have a stamp fetish?" This may lead to a gag in which the character actually ''does'' marry the object.

* On one of the ''Literature/DiaryOfAWimpyKid'' books, a flashback of a younger Greg has him meeting a boy named Quinn at school saying this word-for-word after asking Greg if he likes ice cream.
