** In the short story "Winterfair Gifts", a member of House Vorkosigan's personal guard (Armsman Roic, a rather tall and powerfully built fellow by ordinary standards) has an epiphany after coming face to bustline with Taura and nearly dislocating his arm helping with her luggage when she arrived to attend Miles' wedding. "This must be what it's like for M'lord... ''all the time''." Roic and Taura also arguably end up an example of this trope, though less dramatically so than Miles and Taura.

* ''Literature/HonorHarrington'':
** Honor is 6'2" (188cm) and Paul Tankersley was about 5'6" (168cm), but powerfully built. He spent a lot of time teasing her and giving her sexually laden grief about it before he had a bridge dropped on him. Later she got a more equal match, as [[spoiler:Hamish Alexander]] is about the same height.
** Anton Zilwicki and Cathy Montaigne just keeps the proportion. He is about 5'6" (168 cm) tall and just as broad; she's about 6' (183 m) tall and ''extremely'' lanky.

Not PlayedForLaughs when Tyrion is forced to marry Sansa Stark for political reasons, and she refuses to bow down to allow him to remove her cloak at the marriage ceremony; Tyrion has to be picked up so he can reach her, to the derision of the witnesses.

* ''Franchise/SuperMarioBros'':
** Peach is visibly (at least) OneHeadTaller than Mario, even when Mario has used a Super Mushroom, mostly because Mario is shorter than average. Perhaps one of the most famous examples in all media aside from Boris and Natasha. But this is a somewhat played-with trope in this case since in overall size, Mario is much bigger due to his stocky build and strong enough to throw heavy objects and enemies with ease, while Peach is slim, dainty, and feminine (but can also be just as strong as Mario depending on the game) . Not to mention the ''VideoGame/MarioKart'' series classifies Peach as either a lightweight or a middleweight, while Mario is always classified as a middleweight. However, it's still this trope at the core since she has to bend down to kiss her heroic plumber.
** Sometimes with his brother Luigi, he alternates between being her size or shorter, but he is mostly shorter than her. In ''VideoGame/SuperMario3DWorld'', he is marginally shorter than her so they would share similar hitboxes.
** Princess Daisy is slightly shorter than Peach, but is still a little taller than Luigi. Rosalina on the other hand, is much taller (she is approximately the same height as Waluigi). Even more so with Rosalina, who was seen as a giant at the end of both ''Galaxy'' games, and the ''VideoGame/MarioKart'' series games classes her as a heavyweight despite her slender PrincessClassic type delicate build. In ''Super Mario 3D World'', she is the same height as Peach, so Rosalina wouldn't have an unfairly large hurtbox as a playable character.
* In ''Metal Combat'' (the sequel to ''VideoGame/BattleClash''), the alien Zephyr has a huge and hideous wife named Pamela who is a good deal taller and wider then him. Even her mech is huge!

** Handsome stag/centaur Zaetar had relations with the four-armed, three-faced, giant stone monster that is Princess Theradras. This also counts as HotGuyUglyWife.
** Alexstrasza and Korialstrasz/Krasus. Although they're pretty close in height in humanoid form (him being about a head taller), in dragon form she's at least twice his size.
** The [[InterspeciesRomance Wobblesprockets]] who can be found in Sholazar Basin: Marvin, a gnome, and Tamara, a human.
** In a not-so-obvious example, there's the three [[InterspeciesRomance high elf/human pairs]] (the Windrunner sisters and their human partners); while in-game, the high/blood elves are about the same size as humans, in the official artwork the elves are nearly always depicted as being an entire head taller than the humans. The [[https://i.redd.it/l7762gcai5wz.png most clear example here]] would be Sylvanas, the middle Windrunner sister, and her human boyfriend Nathanos. Look at how she's an entire head taller!
** Invoked in ''Battle for Azeroth'' in a minor quest chain where you help a goblin and a troll with getting two brontosaurs to mate to continue their species. Along the way, the male gets accidentally shrunk by the goblin's gadgets. Regardless, the quest chain ends with you successfully getting the female to accept the male. The goblin briefly wonders if they should restore the male to his original size, but the troll replies, "Nature will find a way. Now let's give them some privacy." Sure enough, you will soon start seeing [[BabiesEverAfter young brontosaurs]] all over the place.
** Lor'themar Theron, regent lord of the blood elves, and First Arcanist Thalyssra of the nightborne, who become an OfficialCouple following the events of the Fourth War. She's at least a head taller than him. Lampshaded by Thalyssra in one of her quotes from ''Dragonflight'': "Ever since we began our relationship, the heels in Lor'themar's boots seem to be getting higher and higher!"

* ''VideoGame/NierAutomata'': 2B and 9S. Their height difference isn't actually that big, but 2B's CombatStilettos make her stand a full head taller than 9S, making him seem much more small and delicate in comparison.
* ''VideoGame/SpyroTheDragon1998'': This is the dynamic of the {{mooks}} that have overrun Cliff Town and serve Doctor Shemp. The huge girls smack the tiny guys in Spyro's direction, though if he moves she may send them off a ledge and to their deaths.
* ''VideoGame/FateGrandOrder'': When Orion the Hunter is summoned, you get his [[BuxomBeautyStandard Buxom]] goddess girlfriend Artemis instead, while Orion is turned into a teddy bear.
* ''Franchise/DragonAge'':
** Dragons in this setting follow this. Male dragons are wingless and grow to be about the size of a large drafthorse. Females will eventually become massive High Dragons.
** In ''VideoGame/DragonAgeOrigins'', this happens when romancing Leliana or Morrigan with a male dwarf or elf. However, in the romance scenes, the dwarf [[ScullyBox is taller]]. A female human PC romancing Zevran also counts, seeing as elves are shorter than humans.
** Even in ''VideoGame/DragonAgeII'', where elves are generally taller, Fenris seems smaller than a female Hawke (and Isabela, his potential sex-buddy), perhaps because he's skinny and also slouches a lot.
** In ''VideoGame/DragonAgeInquisition'', a female Adaar (Qunari) romancing Blackwall is a version of this. While Blackwall isn't tiny by any means, he's certainly very small in comparison to Adaar. A male Cadash (dwarf) romancing Cassandra or Josephine plays this straight.
** Also, as seen in the spinoff comic series set between the second and third games, human Maevaris Tilani had this with her late fiance, Varric's cousin Thorold Tethras, who was a dwarf.

This has less to do with InterspeciesRomance than it does with Ratchet being just plain short. (Angela is the same species as Ratchet, though it's unknown whether this means that Ratchet is short for his kind or that female Lombaxes are naturally bigger than males, given that Angela is the only one that's actually been seen in the series.) Additionally, Dr. Nefarious [[UnholyMatrimony gets into a fling with the utterly massive Cassiopeia.]]
* While most of the Princesses in ''VideoGame/LittleKingsStory'' are taller then Corobo, two take it to ridiculous extremes. The Busty Princess Ferne is as tall as 4 Corobos. The obese Princess Spumoni is simply just far, far wider and taller then the poor little King.
* Ayla and Kino in ''VideoGame/ChronoTrigger''. Ayla is over 1.8 meters tall, ridiculously strong to the point of outperforming even advanced robots, and towers over basically everybody except Robo (who is a lot taller and larger than he looks in-game in official art). Kino is about the same height as Marle (second shortest character after Frog), not to mention a complete wimp. Additionally, it's mentioned that their relationship is a gender-inverted form of WifeHusbandry, as Ayla found Kino as a child and raised him herself before taking him as a husband.

* ''Franchise/TheElderScrolls'':
** Throughout the series until ''Skyrim'', this was the case for the Bosmer (Wood Elves). Males are typically the shortest people in the game, while females are close to the average height of all races. ''Skyrim'' then did away with any notable height disparity in the race.
** Aureals (aka Golden Saints) and Mazken (aka Dark Seducers), are two forms of [[OurDemonsAreDifferent lesser Daedra]] in service to [[MadGod Sheogorath]]. The females are considerably taller ([[MoreDeadlyThanTheMale and deadlier]]) than the males.
** ''[[VideoGame/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim Skyrim]]'' introduces romance options to the series. This can easily happen if you play as a female character from a tall race (such as an Altmer) and marry a man from a shorter race (like a Breton), or vice versa.

This makes this trope universal between them and their Hylian husbands. It ''could'' conceivably be averted if there were Gerudo women who fell in love with men of any of the non-human races, who are portrayed as being as tall as the average Gerudo, but no such pairing is depicted. Even in disguise asking the guard to go in, she'll comment that this "Gerudo" is too short, not tanned, and has blonde hair.

** Taken to the extremes in ''VideoGame/HyruleWarriors'': One of Link's "weapons" is the Great Fairy... which means you actually play as the gigantic Great Fairy while she [[{{Irony}} carries Link inside a bottle]], occasionally letting him out so they can do a combo attack before she sticks him back into the bottle.

* ''VideoGame/ConkersBadFurDay''. Conker seems to have a thing for taller women, given that he stands maybe up to his girlfriend Berri's kneecaps. But it truly becomes Huge Girl Tiny Guy when he meets Jugga, an enormous cavewoman. However, it doesn't work out between them.
* The protagonist of NES game ''VideoGame/MenaceBeach'' is considerably smaller than his girlfriend.
* ''VideoGame/EuropaUniversalis: TheMusical'', were it not an AprilFoolsDay joke, would have involved a romance between a male Ulm and a female France.
