** In "[[Recap/TheSimpsonsS2E11OneFishTwoFishBlowfishBlueFish One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Blue Fish]]", Homer believes he has 24 hours to live after eating a bad blowfish, and near the end, he seems to pass away in the middle of the night. Marge is devastated... but then she notices his drool is warm, which means he's alive.

** Near the end of ''Film/BackToTheFuture1'', Marty arrives too late at the parking mall to save Doc Brown after the latter's refusal to hear Marty warning him about his eventual fate back in 1955, and witnesses the terrorists shooting down his friend again. After the chase between the other Marty and the terrorists, he rushes to Doc's body, and breaks down in tears believing he lost him for good. But suddenly, the Doc blinks, slowly wakes up, Marty turns around and realizes he's still alive, the Doc then reveals that he's been wearing a bulletproof vest, and that he did read Marty's letter warning him about his death.

** ''ComicBook/TheAmazingSpiderManNickSpencer'': In issue #10, Black Cat tearfully reveals that she knows her [[ComicBook/OneMoreDay memory of Spider-Man's true identity was wiped from her mind]]. She confesses to be truly hurt by this, as she felt that she and Peter shared a special bond. It's one of the few times we have truly seen Felicia open and vulnerable since the Brand New Day era. This sad moment then leads to a heartwarming scene of Peter revealing his secret identity to her and the two reconciling.

* In ''WesternAnimation/TheJungleBook'', Baloo is unconscious and Mowgli and Bagheera think he's dead. Bagheera starts doing a speech, but halfway through the speech, Baloo wakes up.

* Near the end of the 2005 film of ''WesternAnimation/TheMagicRoundabout'' after Dougal and his friends managed to re-imprison Zeebad by placing three diamonds on the roundabout, they all celebrate until Dougal asks about Florence and they immediately fall silent as they turn to Mr. Rusty, Basil and Coral trying to wake Florence up, who is seemingly lifeless and appears to have died due to the freezing conditions of the frozen roundabout. As everyone looks on with complete sadness, Dougal tearfully begs Florence to wake up. Then, when he licks her face as he begins to mourn for her, Florence begins to move again to everyone's surprise. This prompts Dougal to revive Florence by continuing to lick her face until she fully wakes up to everyone and Dougal's relief and joy before Florence thanks Dougal for saving her life and those who are trapped on the roundabout.

** Utena's rescue attempt is shown to have apparently been a dismal failure - Anthy actually hesitates too long during Utena's TakeMyHand moment, apparently [[DisneyDeath falling to her death]] as the dueling tower [[CollapsingLair collapses]] with still inside. After an unspecified TimeSkip later, the academy proceeds as normal, with [[RetGone Utena now supernaturally forgotten]]. Anthy is [[UnexplainedRecovery somehow alive and well]], and it looks like the EternalRecurrence is ready to begin again... until Anthy tells Akio [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere that she will no longer help him]], and that [[AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence Utena isn't dead, simply from his]] FisherKingdom. As Akio [[AintTooProudToBeg pathetically screams for her not to leave]], Anthy packs her bags and departs, vowing [[IWillFindYou to find Utena no matter where she is]].

* ''Anime/RevolutionaryGirlUtena'': The ''entire final episode'' basically drops tear-jerker after tear jerker, but then manages to redress every one enough to give a [[BittersweetEnding Bittersweet RayOfHopeEnding]].

** Utena's rescue attempt is shown to have apparently been a dismal failure - Anthy actually hesitates too long during Utena's TakeMyHand moment, apparently falling to her death shortly before the dueling tower [[CollapsingLair collapses]], with Utena herself either crushed in the rubble or torn apart by the swords in Anthy's place. It also serves as a transition from Chibnall to Davies.
