* {{Exalted}} has the Cutting Cascade of Terror which allows an Exalt to replicate any thrown item and rain it down over a large area. Anything the exalt can lift can be thrown as an improvised ranged attack.
* Similarly, the {{Warhammer}} spell Blade Wind.

* The Sword Rune in SuikodenII created multiple swords to attack the enemy, only for a limited time was the person who wielded it on your side.
* This trope appears often in the FinalFantasy Series,

** From DissidiaFinalFantasy we have The [[FinalFantasy Warrior of Light]] who shoots swords of light at his enemy when in EX Mode and during his Radiant Sword attack as well as The [[FinalFantasyIII Onion Knight]] who spams a LOT of sword like beams after his sword attacks and of course we have [[FinalFantasyXII Gabranth]] who uses the aforementioned Basch's [[LimitBreak Quickening]] except his is named [[VisualPun Frost Purge]] and finally [[FinalFantasyVIII Ultimecia]]'s Knight's Sword attack fires a bunch of sword shaped missiles at the enemies.
** In the trailer of FinalFantasyVersusXIII we see Noctis wielding a WallOfWeapons like this.
* One of the most powerful enemy magic attacks in SuperMarioRPG is called "[[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Sword Rain]]". It is only used by the final boss and his lackeys.
* This pops up every now and again in KingdomHearts
** Riku demonstrates this by shooting a bunch of swords at the enemy with his Dark Impulse sleight in the remake of Chain of Memories
** Ventus from KingdomHeartsBirthBySleep has a command style based on this called Wing Blade

* One of the most powerful spells in the AgeOfWonders series features a volley of sharp projectiles raining on the entire field. The Spell appears in the second game, but this time, it rains actual swords, that only hit enemies. It is also the most powerful spell that can be used by heroes, which means you can actually use this spell several times in a single fight.

* In the ScottPilgrim videogame, guess what Knives does?

There is also an achievement / trophy for performing a 60-hit combo with her and earning it will almost certainly involve 40 or more thrown swords.
** What do you get when you take regular Nu and put her on steroids? [[SNKBoss Unlimited Nu]]. Now she can fire ''two swords at once'' for her regular Drive moves, making her basic combo '''9''' hits instead of 4, Legacy Edge fires off 10 more swords than usual, and Calamity Sword drops 4 swords in succession instead of just 1. Have fun dodging.
