It often drives him nuts, since "Dipper Vs. Manliness" proves that he wants to grow up and become a man since he hates being a wimpy 12-year old.

When their mother, Leto, was giving birth, Artemis was born first, very easily, and being a goddess, was at once aware enough to help her mother birth Apollo. Apollo's birth took seven days and nights - and Artemis' role in delivering him is why she is a goddess of childbirth, as well as chastity.

**Actually there is no contradiction. Artemis says that she is older and Apollo says otherwise, so Rick Riordan does not say anything contradictory. The truth is that Apollo was just playing to annoy Artemis, but she was right. (She is the older twin.)
