* The {{Pokemon}} move Sky Uppercut. It can even hit and deal extra damage to pokemon who are Flying (as in, using the move "Fly", not the [[ElementalRockPaperScissors elemental typing]]).

** SamuraiShodown has these. The second game, of course, had ones that [[IncindiaryExponent set you on fire]], but RyuAndKen style Haohmaru and Genjuro (as well as Wan-Fu) get these.

* Marisa's Miasma Sweep in the ''{{Touhou}}'' fighting games. Her version of the rising uppercut is supplmented with her FlyingBroomstick for added oomph.

* Fulgore and Jago both get one in the orignal KillerInstinct

*** Yun and Yang have a handplant rising kick that also functions the same. At least until 3, where [[{{Luigification}} Yang started to roll before unleashing the move so it became a ranged attack.]]

*** Luigi's Up+B only does the coin sound effect if you don't sweetspot the move. If you do, it does crazy damage and a very distinct "KREENGsh!"

* Various of the Mishima clan in the ''{{Tekken}}'' games have variants of this.

* The {{Pokemon}} move Sky Uppercut. Which does extra damage to Flying pokemon, [[ElementalRockPaperScissors who normally resist Fighting attacks.]]

* The {{Pokemon}} move Sky Uppercut. It's also one of the few attacks able to hit flying pokemon, who normally evade all other offensive moves.

** Also Sagat (Tiger Uppercut/Tiger Blow), Akuma (Gou Shoryuken), Sakura (Shou-ouken), Dan (Koryuken), Sean (Dragon Smash), Dudley (Jet Upper), Gouken (Shin/Forbidden Shoryuken), Seth ([[DittoFighter Shoryuken]]), [[{{Shotoclone}} etc]], [[LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters etc]].

Not to be confused with [[FlechetteStorm shuriken]], which are ninja stars.

** On the Capcom side, MegaMan and [[StarGladiator Hayato]] have versions of their own. Hayato's with a LaserBlade.

** You can gib an opponent on high enough levels with this.

* SpiderMan (Spider Sting), CaptainAmerica (Stars & Stripes), [[XMen Wolverine]] (Tornado Claw), [[XMen Cyclops]] (Gene Splice), and [[XMen Cable]] (Scimitar) all possess shoryuken in the various CapcomVsWhatever games. Stars & Stripes is unique in that if Cap does it without his shield, it does multiple hits, Gene Splice and Tornado Claw function like Ken's shinryuken super, Scimitar becomes a projectile once Cable hits the top of his height with the move, and Spider Sting is the same thing as [[FatalFury Power Dunk]].

* [[DragonBall Goku]] pulls off a similar move -- the Dragon Fist -- during the thirteenth DBZ movie, and it returns to finish off Super 17 in ''GT''.
** Actually that's what he used to finish off [[BigBad King Piccolo]] in the original DragonBall.
*** More like an improved version of it, but yes, the basic attack in both cases qualifies for this trope.
**** To be more precise, the move Goku used against King Piccolo is known as "Penetrate!" which was a fledging version of the move he later used as a Super Saiyan 3, the Dragon Fist.

* [[CtrlAltDel Ethan]] does this to TheGrinch when he catches him trying to steal his presents. And then threatens to "perform TheNutcracker, [[GroinAttack and I'm not talking about the ballet]]" if he bleeds on any of them.
