* Early in ''VideoGame/JadeEmpire'', the PlayerCharacter is told that as a result of the BigBad's actions, the path to the afterlife proper is blocked, causing all the miscellaneous wandering spirits you have to fight throughout the game. But when they're struck down at the end of Act 4, this also means that the Spirit Monk isn't quite down for the count just yet. Eventually, with the help of the Water Dragon, they're able to return from limbo not as a ghost, but in their original physical form (or presumably a good copy). One of the Spirit Monk's companions, who is himself a heavenly spirit, flatly says that they ''don't do that'', not ever, not for anyone -- but the culmination of the Water Dragon's epic plans require it, so there it is. It's not just a gift; in order to come back, the Spirit Monk has to cleanse the Water Dragon's temple by killing (the avatars of) an EldritchAbomination defiling the grounds.
