* Fans of ''WesternAnimation/TheTransformers'' tend to favor its hokiness and absurdity over more serious modern takes. Megatron and Starscream's relationship being LikeAnOldMarriedCouple is silly, but it's a lot funnier than settings where they're supposed to be competent (not to mention, it provides lots of HoYay). Optimus playing basketball and trash-talking his opponents is dumb, but it gives him a lot more character than the VanillaProtagonist he's depicted as in modern works. The animation is more frequently OffModel than not, but dang if it doesn't make for a good DrinkingGame. Works that try to pull directly from the cartoon in the modern day (the Dreamwave comics, Deviations, Wings of Honor) tend to get fairly lukewarm responses, as it usually ends up with the bland parts of a Saturday morning cartoon without the charming or funny parts.

* As the Page Quote from ''Series/TopGear'' says a car might be more ''fun'' to drive if it is dynamically ''worse'' since cars with more power than grip will oversteer, ie; the back end will slide around under acceleration, more dangerous on a road but more exciting to mess about with on a track. This can also apply to videogames where the 'less good' cars can be more fun to race than the top level cars. It is for this reason that James Hunt preferred an [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin_A35 Austin A35]] for everyday driving.

When the ''Mega Man X Legacy Collection'' changed their names back to the original Japanese versions, a subsection of the fanbase voiced their displeasure that Duff [=McWhalen=] was reverted to the more generic-sounding "Tidal Whale."

If you watch some of the sample clips on [=YouTube=], you'll see complaints such as Mamoru calling Usagi "bunhead" instead of "meatball head," or Luna not having a British accent. While several appreciated the re-dub with a pretty faithful translation, professional voice actors, keeping the original music, and no CutAndPasteTranslation, many of the aforementioned purists decry the Viz Media dub as much less fun to watch. Where's the [[HamAndCheese overly hammy]] voice acting? Where's the ridiculous American slang? The clumsy censorship? The unfitting voices? For some, the awkward localization of the original dub ironically added a whole new level of NarmCharm to a show that was already over-the-top to begin with, and it's just not ''Sailor Moon'' without it. The biggest thing that fans actually miss however is the soundtrack, which even the biggest critics of the [=DiC=] dub admitted was pretty awesome.

* The creators of ''VideoGame/RainbowSixSiege'' have stated this of Tachanka. Widely seen as the worst character by a wide margin, he also happens to be the most popular, and much of this popularity comes from what an absolute joke he is; in a game all about mobility and flanking, his unique trick is to park himself and become a sitting duck. Add in his HuskyRusskie personality and giant machine gun, and you have a recipe for MemeticBadass and MemeticLoser at the same time. It's very similar to ''My Immortal'' (obsession with goth culture, InNameOnly characterization, short chapters, extremely obvious Mary Sue protagonist), but a considerable step up in terms of spelling, grammar, fidelity to the source material, and overall coherence. It ends up feeling a bit like the sort of story that ''My Immortal'' was intended to be. It's also nowhere near as famous, as said step up is only into the realm of half-functional mediocrity rather than incomprehensible failure. It didn't help that it became a DeadFic only a few chapters in, while its counterpart made it past 40 chapters; one theory about its abandonment is that it simply wasn't as fun to write or attracting as much attention as ''My Immortal.''

* An intern wrote into the advice blog Ask A Manager because they'd been fired and were seeking recourse. The intern had noticed that a coworker typed in a way the intern considered inefficient, so the intern changed the coworker's computer setting to force the coworker to type differently. The blogger responded by telling the letter writer that changing the way someone types is going to result in an adjustment period that might cancel out any gains in efficiency (and also that an intern trying to enforce changes on actual employees was a pretty gross case of overstepping one's bounds).
