** In the reboot, ''Series/FraggleRockBackToTheRock'', all the Merggles, [[OurMermaidsAreDifferent merfolk versions of the Fraggles]], are all stuck with uncontrollable hiccups as a result of the polluted water in Fraggle Rock. Gobo, Boober and Wembley all try to scare the hiccups out of them, but they end up being terrible at it. In the end, an accident causes them to crash into each other, making the Merggles laugh and cure their hiccups. At that moment, Wembley then hiccups, and the others [[HereWeGoAgain look at him in horror]], but it turns out it was just a one-time.

* The [[WesternAnimation/WabbitALooneyTunesProduction New Looney Tunes]] episode "Hiccups And Downs" has Bugs get hiccups when he drinks his lemonade too fast. Porky does all he can to cure him, even sending him to Witch Hazel and a scary castle, but no luck. Porky then pulls a trick by saying he'll move in with him and stop at nothing to cure him, which scares Bugs into losing them. We then cut to a screenshot of both of them saying how they respect each other even if they don't want to live with each other, and then [[HereWeGoAgain they both hiccup]], ending the episode.

* In the episode "Magic Hiccups/Gaius Maecenas" from ''WesternAnimation/TheNewMrPeabodyAndShermanShow'', Sherman accidentally swallows a magic flute he's not supposed to use and gets hiccups. Whenever he hiccups, magical mayhem ensues. He's cured when the flute is taken out of his body.

* In the "Rocket Fuel Formula" arc of ''WesternAnimation/RockyAndBullwinkle'', Bullwinkle briefly gets a case of hiccups. Unfortunately, since he had unknowingly eaten a bunch of explosive mooseberries, [[HairTriggerExplosive this is a bad thing]], forcing Boris and Natasha to try every hiccup cure they could think of: ice water, hot water, more ice water, head in a bag, holding the breath...

* Comic strip/{{Popeye}} is afflicted with the hiccups in a Brodax short. Brutus poses as a doctor, and after he's finished, Popeye has hiccups, sneezes ''and'' narcolepsy.

This trope has nothing to do with ''Literature/HowToTrainYourDragon'', although Hiccup certainly has his fair share of hijinks.

* ''Manga/HowToTreatALadyKnightRight'': Chapter 12 has Leo develop a case of the hiccups. Houli finds it adorable, so much so that he has a hard time taking an onslaught of goblins as seriously as he should. The fact that Leo is cutting them all down while hiccuping all the while doesn't help. Leo tries to just act like nothing is happening, but when she releases a huge hiccup right in front of Houli's face, she gets flustered, embarrassed, and starts hitting Houli. The narration notes at this point her hiccups stopped.

* In the ''Animation/SimpleSamosa'' episode "Simple Hitchki", Samosa gets the hiccups and his friends help him to find all sorts of ways to cure them, including drinking water, drinking ''lots and lots'' of chutney, and - of course - trying to scare him. A rather unexpected occurrence is what finally gets him to stop hiccuping: [[spoiler:he meets his own voice actor as well as those of his friends in their recording studio, which is apparently in a room in Dr. Goti Sodawala's hospital]].

* In a miniarc of the ''ComicBook/{{Sturmtruppen}}'', the Captain of the Extermination Squad is left unable to order "Fire!" because of a severe case of hiccups. The Squad and the Prisoner they have to shoot try to cure him with various methods, including painting his face black before showing him a mirror or making him angry by suggesting he has Jewish parents. Eventually, he's cured when he's shown a written order from the Fuhrer himself to stop hiccuping, and he obeys.

* The first "Prince Herbert" sequence in ''Film/MontyPythonAndTheHolyGrail'' has a guard hiccuping in the background all the way through, until the King angrily tells him to go get a drink of water -- at which point his hiccups apparently stop.

* The first gag in ''Film/TheMilkyWay'' features Burleigh the wimpy milkman thoroughly irritating his boss by hiccuping all the way through a company meeting.

* In an episode of ''Series/HowIMetYourMother'', Marshall's fantasy of sleeping with a hot delivery girl has to involve a prerequisite fantasy of Lily first dying from some incurable hiccup-related illness. Creator/AlysonHannigan hiccuping to death is tragic, yet funny.

* ''Series/TheManFromUNCLE'': In "The Mad Mad Tea Party Affair" all kinds of bizarre things are happening in UNCLE headquarters, including an InnocentBystander who accidentally stumbles into the building. Our heroes are playing GoodCopBadCop to see if she's a THRUSH infiltrator, causing her to start hiccuping nervously. Solo fetches a glass of water, only for her to scream as there's a fish swimming in it. This does however cure her hiccups.

* In the ''Big Barn Farm'' episode 'Gobo Gets Hiccups' Gobo the goat gets hiccups, and the rest of the farmyard bunch try to find a way to cure them. They eventually stop after Gobo is startled when the farmer's tractor makes a loud noise, but the sound also scares Digger the puppy, [[HereWeGoAgain which causes him to start hiccuping.]]

* The blooper reel for the ''Series/SonnyWithAChance'' season 1 finale has Demi Lovato hiccuping in front of Tiffany Thornton when shooting the scene of Sonny telling Tawni they should look out for each other.

* ''ComicStrip/CalvinAndHobbes''. After Calvin attempts to drink a glass of water upside-down from the far side of the glass, an amused Hobbes makes the above quote. And when Calvin suddenly stops having hiccups, Hobbes (not knowing that the hiccups were already gone) scares him, causing him to start hiccuping ''[[HereWeGoAgain again]]''.

* The ''WesternAnimation/JohnnyBravo'' episode "As I Lay Hiccuping". Johnny gets the hiccups after eating his cereal too fast, which his mama warned him not to. He then goes to the doctor's office, and the doctor he sees is a hot lady. Johnny spends the entire episode losing the hiccups and getting them back. [[spoiler: Once he does get them back, he sees the doctor, only for her to actually be a male doctor wearing a costume, which scared Johnny pretty good.]]

* Eddy's flashback in the ''WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy'' episode "The Good Ol' Ed" was of Edd getting a bad case of the hiccups. Edd tries drinking water, but keeps hiccuping so hard he only ends up spilling it, and at one point [[CloudCuckoolander Ed]] tries to scare Edd's hiccups away by shouting "I am a zombie, and I will malice you with a shoehorn!" into Edd's mouth. However, Eddy is the only one who remembers this incident

* The ''WesternAnimation/RandomCartoons'' short "Ivan The Unbearable" involved a clumsy Viking getting hiccups... from a box of cursed cookies. Which meant every time he hiccuped, something broke or something fell out of nowhere and hit somebody nearby.

* A ''WesternAnimation/TomAndJerry'' short called "WesternAnimation/HiccupPup" in which Spike the bulldog's adorable little son keeps getting the hiccups when Tom disturbs his nap while chasing Jerry. Spike is not pleased. It gets even more amusing when Spike's attempts to cure his son [[GotMeDoingIt result in him hiccuping as well]].

* In "WesternAnimation/{{Caillou}}'s Hiccups," Caillou gets the hiccups. At first, Caillou's parents tell him to be patient and they'll go away on their own, as patience is the theme of the episode in which this story is featured. But when Caillou keeps hiccuping, his parents start up with the various "cures," only for them to go away on their own, just as his parents first suggested. Then Daddy gets them.

** In the classic cartoon, Woody once met a villain named "Wild Bill Hiccup", who couldn't say (or even hear) "hiccup" without hiccuping for real.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddParents'': In "Cosmo Rules", Jorgen had a case of Trick-ups (his magic did a parlor trick every time he hiccuped) and had to let Cosmo enforce Da Rules.

* ''WesternAnimation/AngryBirdsToons'' once had the Blues start hiccuping. The other birds' attempts to scare them away fail until Matilda successfully frightens them with the prospect of a bath. [[spoiler:Then the ''eggs'' start hiccuping somehow...]]

** These are the subject of "Hiccups and Night Fun" from ''WesternAnimation/KateAndMimMim''. In Mimiloo, Boomer has some important news to tell everyone, but he can't say it because he's hiccuping too much. [[spoiler:It turns out that the 'big news' was that he'd invented a new sound: him hiccuping.]]

** In "Squeaky Boots", Mr. Krabs shrinks and swallows [=SpongeBob=]'s boots when he can't stand the squeaking. When he and Pearl go on vacation at the end, he then starts hiccuping and squeaking.

** In "Moving Bubble Bass," [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick get the hiccups when they try to move Bubble Bass's stuff across the bridge to his grandmother's house. They keep hiccuping so much that the bridge starts shaking, and collapses.

** The episode "The Shape Of Grumbles" has Grumbles getting hiccups when he eats too fast and starts shapeshifting at random times. Abby does what she can to help. He then eats brussel sprouts at the end, at which they're cured, but then she gets hiccups.

* There's an episode of ''WesternAnimation/CampLakeBottom'', appropriately titled "Hiccups", which has [=McGee=] getting hiccups when he drinks fizzy water mixed with break berries. Unfortunately, it makes everything around him disappear. He eventually loses them after literally hiccuping away everything when in the falls.

* In the ''WesternAnimation/{{Doug}}'' episode "Doug's Secret Song," Doug gets the hiccups due to StageFright when he's about to record his own music video. He also forgets the words to the song he meant to sing, so instead he sings the only song he can think of, one that he wrote about Patti, hiccuping all the while. This makes him especially horrified later when he thinks Patti took home his video by mistake: not only will she learn about his secret crush from the dorky song he wrote, but his hiccup-filled performance will make it even more embarrassing.

* In ''WesternAnimation/TheNewAdventuresOfWinnieThePooh'' episode "To Catch a Hiccup", Piglet gets the hiccups and Pooh misunderstands, thinking he offended Piglet. Rabbit, Tigger, and Owl try different ways to cure Piglet while Pooh tries to get honey for Piglet as an apology gift. When Piglet finally gets cured and clears things up with Pooh, the episode ends with [[HereWeGoAgain Rabbit, Tigger, and Owl getting the hiccups]].

* In ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooAndReluctantWerewolf'' , Shaggy gets the hiccups just as he becomes a werewolf. He keeps changing back and forth with each hiccup, until he stops hiccuping and stays in werewolf form by the time he reunites with Scooby. He doesn't even realize he was transforming like this until he's shown his reflection.
