In fact the website Kingdoms Press maintains a whole slew of fanfics, many of which are a Continuation and, while varying in quality, mostly rather good. * ''Fanfic/TheNeverendingRoad'' is an absolutely brilliant ''Manga/HikaruNoGo'' Fanfic that begins right where the manga abruptly ends.

* ''Epilogue of Evangelion'' is a 700-page (non-hentai) {{Doujinshi}} following Shinji and Asuka's life after ''[[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion End of Evangelion]]''. It's also crammed with SugarWiki/{{WAFF}} and of course [[spoiler: it ends with BabiesEverAfter]].

* ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13695083/1/THIS-IS-IT THIS IS IT!]]'' is the title of a ''Anime/LuckyStar'' fanfic of another, long-deleted fic titled ''Cries Unheard'', detailing its antagonists' demises that led to the flash-forward prologue with Miyuki under police interrogation by Yui but never got to play out way back then. That, however, is the ''only'' thing its author meant to resolve, albeit with some actual buildup that revolves mostly around Konata and Yutaka's liberation.

* ''Fanfic/{{Repairs}}'' is but one of many ''VideoGame/{{Metroid}}'' post-Fusion fanfictions. There's hundreds of the damn things!

* ''FanFic/Flashpoint2AdventSolaris'' serves as a continuation of the ''WesternAnimation/DCAnimatedMovieUniverse'', starting fresh after the events of the final film in the series.

* The film ''Film/TheLeagueOfExtraordinaryGentlemen'' was of variable popularity with fans of the [[Comicbook/TheLeagueOfExtraordinaryGentlemen graphic novel]], but among those who enjoyed it, there developed a large number of 'what happened next' stories. Most of these involve adding characters to the League with powers that weren't already part of the cadre, such as werewolves or psychics. At least [[FanFic/ThePrivateDiaryOfElizabethQuatermain one series]], however, subverted the tendency by saddling the League with an individual completely lacking in supernatural bilities.
* Even though a sequel to Film/TheDarkKnight was already in the works, a fanfic sequel was already written [[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6072813/1/The_Caped_Crusader_A_Sequel_to_the_Dark_Knight here]]. Of course, considering Heath Ledger is no longer with us and both Nolan and Bale have gone on record to say that no one will reprise the role of Joker, this fic will continue to utilize this trope.

* ''FanFic/Hottie3TheBestFanFicInTheWorld'' is a fan sequel to ''Burning Ambition'', the sequel to the novel "Literature/{{Hottie}}" by Jonathan Bernstein.

* ''Series/ForeverKnight'' got two fanfic virtual continuations: ''FanFic/FK4'', a ScriptFic series which {{retcon}}ned the DownerEnding, and ''[[http://www.fkfanfic.com/v4s/index.htm V4S]]'', a prose series that took the ending as canon and continued in a darker vein.

* ''Fanfic/LegacyOfKainDivusSaga'' is an entire series of fics that continue the story that was LeftHanging after ''VideoGame/LegacyOfKain: Defiance''.

Rather than existing for the purpose of tackling unanswered questions or elaborating on the story, it mainly focuses on the characters trying to make the world a better place, getting into odd situations along the way.

* ''FanFic/TyrantlyEverAfter'' follows the events of ''[[VideoGame/Disgaea4APromiseUnforgotten Disgaea 4]]'', aiming to develop Valvatorez, Fenrich and Artina's relationship into [[{{Polyamory}} a polyamorous one]], though not without considerable conflict (and a CrisisOfFaith) first.

* ''[[Webcomic/KlonoaDreamCrusaders]] continues the story of ''Klonoa: Dream Travellers of Noctis Sol'', the Website/{{Shiftylook}} comic based on ''VideoGame/{{Klonoa}}'' that was unfortunately CutShort when Shiftylook was shut down.

* ''Webcomic/ArchieSonicOnline'' is a fan continuation of pre-[[ContinuityReboot reboot]] continuity of ''ComicBook/SonicTheHedgehogArchieComics''.

* ''Fanfic/TheDelinquentAndHisLover'' had been a dead fic since 2017 before another author [[https://archiveofourown.org/works/35082442/ picked up where they left off]].

* ''Fanfic/MySuperBestFriend'': This story takes place after the Season 21 finale of ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'' and ties up various looses ends left off, such as that of the Gender War, the crisis in Canada, Kyle guilt for causing said crisis, and Heidi's character arc.

* Besides the major canon-divergence of [[SparedByTheAdaptation Tom being alive]], the ''Fanfic/{{Eleutherophobia}}'' series is set during the periods of time that were skipped over in ''Literature/{{Animorphs}} #54: The Beginning''.

As a result, many fans have taken to writing "endgame" fics depicting the FinalBattle between the good guys and TheSyndicate, knowing full well that in a few years it'll all be OutdatedByCanon. [=MangaLuva=]'s ''Fanfic/WhenPandorasBoxIsOpened'' is a pretty good crash-course in what to expect from these fics: full-on CanonWelding with forerunner series ''Manga/MagicKaito'', the mysterious [[MacGuffin Pandora gem]] driving the plot, and every one of the canon material's carefully-segregated [[CastHerd Cast Herds]] cheerfully mingling and playing XanatosSpeedChess with aplomb.
