* ''Manga/{{Manhole}}'' was designated as a "harmful book" in 2009 by Nagasaki Prefecture, banning its sale in the prefecture. The author never actually found out about this ban until five years after the fact and tried to get the ban overturned, but had all his appeals rejected. It's not particularly graphic by horror manga standards either and there's certainly no content that you would call obscene or pornographic. * "WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse": This show has a complicated history with Polish censorship, so let's go through it; when the show aired in Poland in 2016, it was given a 12 rating due to the presence of LGBT characters (Clyde's dads) - episodes like "Overnight Success" were able to air on Nickelodeon Poland normally with no dialogue censorship whatsoever. Then when Season 2 aired in Poland, the show's rating changed to a 7, and the tradition of airing episodes featuring LGBT characters remained. However, between Season 2 and 3, a Polish conservative group called Ordo luris complained about the show's featuring of LGBT characters, and as a result, the show returned back to a 12 rating, but this time, not only were the S1-2 episodes with LGBT characters completely forbidden from reruns, all future ones did not air on the channel period. Multiple of the banned episodes instead aired on Nicktoons Poland, and the S1-2 episodes remained on Netflix Poland with their Polish dubs and with no censorship. However, this became less enforced as the show went on, and by 2021, it seemed to have completely disappeared; multiple episodes, such as "Attention Deficit" returned to reruns on Nickelodeon Poland (with no censorship, once again); by Season 5, censorship seemed to have disappeared completely, as episodes such as "Flying Solo" (which was banned from Nickelodeon Russia, who enforced the ban over episodes with LGBT characters) were able to premiere normally alongside other Season 5 episodes, and by 2022, many of the missing episodes (such as "Singled Out", "Brave the Last Dance" and "Purrfect Gig") were finally able to air with a Polish dub. Nowadays, the censorship seems to have completely disappeared.
** In an even stranger case, "WesternAnimation/TheCasagrandes" was given a regular 7 rating on Nickelodeon Poland, in spite of an episode featuring a gay couple ("Matters of the Kart"), which aired normally.
* "WesternAnimation/RegularShow": The episodes "The Unicorns Have Got to Go" and "Benson's Suit" never appeared on Cartoon Network Poland. The reason for the latter is completely unknown, but the former was likely banned due to disturbing humor present; however, the former finally appeared on Netflix in Poland in Feb 2024, 14 years after it had originally aired in the US, complete with an actual Polish dub. The weirdest thing about the ban is that the episode has been dubbed since the show began airing in Poland, due to the presence of Skips' original voice actor in the Polish dub.

* Norway used to practice harsh film censorship, with anything too violent or immoral getting the banhammer. This included movies like Film/BonnieAndClyde, Film/TheGoodTheBadAndTheUgly, Film/TheTexasChainsawMassacre and Film/FridayThe13th, among others. This only intensified during the 80's when the country was struck by a Video Nasty type of hysteria, leading to many tapes being banned or censored. In 2003 all existing bans were lifted and the country hardly ever bans media anymore unless it's something blatantly illegal like underage porn or unsimulated murder.

North Korea, probably the single most isolated country in the world, bans nearly anything foreign -- and enforces this through serious punishments. This can happen even to those caught listening to South Korean music (not that it stops South Korea from broadcasting music over the border, through both radio and giant loudspeakers). North Korea even has its own Internet, completely separate from the normal World Wide Web, and thus free of any outside influence. It would be easier to list what's foreign and ''not'' banned in North Korea:
