*** As a matter of fact, most aliens are trying to kill us, but not because they particularly hate us. Headcrabs have tons of natural predators on Xen, and aren't even very numerous there, thanks in part to the bullsquids, who are either territorial or just want their num-nums, and barnacles will try to eat anything or anyone they lay their tongue on. [[spoiler: The vortigaunts are being enslaved by the nihilanth, who is enslaved by the combine, who view us as just another world to feed their war machine,]] who are producing the alien grunts, and synths as literally biologically engineered weapons. Really, the only bastards here are the combine.

This is too broad to be an example and is general enough to be mentioned in the main description. It certainly doesn't need to be called a "Real Life" example. Only specific instances of The Greys being bastards should be mentioned in the examples list.
