I would call Tony from Axis Powers Hetalia either a played with or downplayed example. He isn't outright evil, but he is a pottymouth who for whatever reason, hates England. Can I add him?

It The Thing an example? We never get to know if the eponymous alien is actually intelligent or if it just mimics the people at the base and is otherwise animalistic. As for bastardry, it might just be trying to survive. As we don't really know what happened at the Norwegian camp, it might be afraid of humans.

As a general rule, any example that doesn't even explain how it's an example is useless enough to be axed automatically.
