Ill Girl has been cut per TRS decision. Examples are moved to Delicate And Sickly when appropriate.

* IllGirl: [[spoiler:Kenzie has leukemia and isn't sure how long she has left to live.]] She seems better in the epilogue though.

* TroubledButCute: Ethan, so very much. He only acts like a jerk because he doesn't want anyone to get caught up in his faery business by getting too close to him.

''Call of the Forgotten'' is the spinoff sequel to the ''[[Literature/TheIronKing Iron Fey]]'' series by Creator/JulieKagawa. The story revolves around Meghan's younger half brother Ethan Chase, now all grown up and cursed with the ability to see the fey, who make his life a living hell as a result. Trying not to drag anyone else into the mess that is his life, Ethan tries to stay as isolated as possible - until he meets Mackenzie "Kenzie" St. James, who absolutely refuses to be scared away by him. To make matters worse, a new species of creepy glamour-sucking fey appears, half-faeries start disappearing, and Ethan and Kenzie end up being sucked into a new war of the fey that involves Ethan's entire faery side of the family...

The series consists of three books: ''The Lost Prince'', ''The Iron Traitor'' and ''The Iron Warrior''.

!!''Call of the Forgotten'' contains examples of the following tropes:
* BackForTheFinale: Grimalkin, the Wolf and the witch all return near the end (although Grimalkin has had a few appearances before), and Ash and Puck get another scene of fighting side by side, like back in the original series.
* BrainsAndBrawn: Ethan (brawn) and Kenzie (brains), especially later on. It's actually pointed out by both of them.
* CastFromLifespan: Kenzie trades a month of her natural lifespan to Leanansidhe to gain the Sight. [[spoiler:Later Ethan has to trade an entire year for the right to use the trod to the Deep Wyld, where they hope to find Annwyl.]]
* DistantFinale: The epilogue takes place eight months after the end of the main storyline.
* FaceHeelTurn: [[spoiler:Keirran at the end of ''Iron Traitor''. The plot of ''Iron Warrior'' largely revolves around bringing him back.]]
* GuileHero: Kenzie, especially nearing the end. She bargains and tricks her way through the entire Nevernever and manages to resolve situations Ethan would have solved with violence.
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler:Annwyl in ''Iron Warrior''. It was clear from the very beginning that she'd die if Keirran destroyed the amulet and regained his soul, but she also ended up TakingTheBullet in a strike meant for Ethan.]]
* IllGirl: [[spoiler:Kenzie has leukemia and isn't sure how long she has left to live.]] She seems better in the epilogue though.
* PluckyGirl: Giving up is not in Kenzie's vocabulary.
* SpoilerTitle: ''The Iron Traitor'' hints at [[spoiler:Keirran's betrayal at the end of the book.]]
* TroubledButCute: Ethan, so very much. He only acts like a jerk because he doesn't want anyone to get caught up in his faery business by getting too close to him.
