** '''''Film/{{Gotti}}''''', a 2018 biopic of [[TheMafia mafia]] boss John Gotti adapted from the memoirs of his son John Angelo "Junior" Gotti, spent seven years in DevelopmentHell, and it shows. A near-two hour attempt to paint a ''mob boss'' as an [[HistoricalHeroUpgrade unambiguous hero and family man]], it's a mostly RandomEventsPlot that jumps between events in Gotti's life with no structure (with overuse of {{stock footage}} as if it's trying to be a docudrama). Only John Travolta as the titular Gotti seems to be [[TookTheBadFilmSeriously acting properly]], as everyone else is horrid. That's not just true for the acting, but the makeup - Spencer Lofranco as Junior Gotti is unconvincingly aged 20 years with glasses and gray hair dye, which makes the cuts to stock footage of the real Junior (who actually looked his age) even more jarring. There's even a rap score by Music/{{Pitbull}} - for a movie that's set largely in the 70s and 80s! This flopped, as [[BoxOfficeBomb it failed to recoup its $10 million budget]], partially thanks to 40% of cinemagoers getting their tickets free through the [=MoviePass=] service. It was nominated for seven Razzie Awards, including Worst Picture and Worst Director, but won none (losing the first two to ''Film/HolmesAndWatson'', also on this page). # It isn't a Horrible film just because any Website/ChannelAwesome alumni (including the few still on the site as of writing), [[WebVideo/CinematicExcrement Smeghead]], and/or any other CausticCritic reviewed it, or because it was either on ''Series/MysteryScienceTheater3000'', [[WebVideo/IHateEverything I Hate Everything]]'s ''The Search for the Worst'', or Filmento's ''Anatomy of a Failure'' series. Nor is it a Horrible film just because it earned a Razzie nomination/award for Worst Picture or any other catagory. There needs to be independent evidence, such as reputable critics like Creator/RogerEbert and Creator/LeonardMaltin (emphasis on plural), for example, to list it. Once it is listed, they can provide the detailed review. Website/RottenTomatoes and Metacritic are good starting points to find those critics; if the rating on RT is in the single-digits and/or the Metascore below 30, it's a potential candidate for this list. In other words, universally despised by audiences and critics alike.

** The movies still collapse on their own (de)merits. The first one might be a GuiltyPleasure if you're in a forgiving mood, but the other films are just plain ''bad''. They're shot on bad video with terrible quality, the actors are awful, and the scripts are so stock and so linear that the stories (story?) are like 10-minute skits stretched out to an hour in a way that makes ''Film/StarTrekTheMotionPicture'' look fast-paced. ** Based on [[Literature/BattlefieldEarth the controversial pulp]] Sci-Fi {{Doorstopper}} written by Creator/LRonHubbard, '''''Film/BattlefieldEarth''''' effectively [[CreatorKiller killed the Franchise Pictures company]] and mostly undid Creator/JohnTravolta's CareerResurrection. ** '''''Diary of a Cannibal''''' is [[BlatantLies apparently]] a fictional spin on [[RippedFromTheHeadlines the Armin Meiwes case]], as it advertises itself. It really isn't. It mostly consists of the same footage being repeated over and over for [[{{Padding}} 86 minutes]] of the boy and the girl staring at each other, B-roll, second-unit and establishing shots, and the same axe-raising shot. What little writing present in the movie is terrible, the acting is cripplingly artificial and lifeless, the special effects are amateurish at best and unbelievably effortless at worst, the editing is nonsensical, the cameras are shaky or used downright pitifully (often even used to hide the effects) and make the movie look like it was shot through a jam jar, the music is minimalist and painfully discordant, and the sound is very poorly mixed (not even being edited to accommodate a phone call scene).
