* As pointed out in [[https://www.cracked.com/article_26671_5-famous-games-inspired-by-most-absolutely-random-things.html this article on]] Website/{{Cracked}}, Yahtzee's joke review of ''VideoGame/DukeNukemForever'' seems eerily prophetic of a large number of plot elements used in ''VideoGame/WolfensteinTheNewOrder'', particularly when it comes to adding humanity and depth to a previously bland character, being spurred into action by a love interest begging him to help, being set after the villains have taken over, and starting in the ghettos before finishing on the moon.

* The original review of ''VideoGame/DukeNukemForever''. Yahtzee's "review" was recently voted the [[http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/1968-Viewers-Choice-Duke-Nukem-Forever best he'd ever done]] by members of ''The Escapist'' - mere days afterward, Gearbox announced that ''DNF'' was [[http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2010/09/03/controversial-long-awaited-duke-nukem-forever-will-finally-be-released/ actually finished]], and a demo was playable at PAX. Now ''that's'' timing.

** The start of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBJsFocwVWA his]] ''Videogame/BadCompany 2'', wanting ''VideoGame/DukeNukemForever'' because a return to ''Videogame/DukeNukem3D''-like shooters would be better than what the FPS genre had became. And when the game came out it was criticized for playing too much like contemporary shooters while many of the elements kept from ''3D'' didn't come off well.
** Yahtzee had quite the longstanding thing going with DNF. Way, way back at the start of Zero Punctuation, he mentioned in his "appearance" at the 2007 Game Developer's Choice awards (a video that came out nearly four years before the game itself was released) that if DNF "doesn't turn out to be history's greatest contribution to human culture", he "and every other reviewer on Earth [was] going to saw its bullocks off." Not only did his mock review describe it as such a contribution, but when the actual game came out, it got brutally, nearly universally panned-- including by Yahtzee himself.
** In his review for ''Fable 2'', Yahtzee opens up by reminding the viewers that ''Fable 1'' was the second review he ever made, so all he has to do is review ''The Darkness'' again, then crash and burn into total obscurity and his life will be perfectly symmetrical. Much later, he reviews ''The Darkness 2''. Of course, he didn't fade into obscurity so this is at least a partial subversion.

** In the same review, when he sees that all of the bad guys are non-Americans, just like in the previous two games, he begs the developers that in the next game the player be allowed to kill an American - “Just one!” - for a change. Then came ''VideoGame/Uncharted4AThiefsEnd'', where in the entire game, you get to kill...one single American.

* One that grew ever more hilarious with time; in his review of ''VideoGame/{{Bloodborne}}'' he opened by commenting on how Creator/FromSoftware's business strategy seemed to based around doing one thing that nobody else did to force all the people who were into that thing (in this case, punishingly-hard, exploration-focused action RPG games with subtle storytelling) to come to them exclusively. Since then, SoulslikeRPG has become an entire genre unto itself with countless other developers getting into it.

* In his ''Let's Drown Out'' of ''VideoGame/{{Agario}}'', Yahtzee lamented the dearth of old-school style shooters like ''VideoGame/{{Painkiller}}'' and ''VideoGame/SeriousSam'', declaring that if he were ever backed by a triple-A studio, he'd create a game where "you can run around at the fucking land speed record, you can hold ten guns, no fucking reloading animations; you just shoot and shoot again, and firing speed will be what balances weapon effectiveness. And monsters with like, locational damage and limbs that fly off. And really satisfying gore effects. Big explosions." Just a few months after the video, ''VideoGame/Doom2016'' was released, with virtually all the features that he described and more.

* Yahtzee describes the inconsequential character-naming feature from the start of ''VideoGame/DeusEx'' by jokingly alluding to the game throwing it out and insisting the protagonist's name is JC Denton. While this was indeed his usual joking exaggeration (In actuality, the player decides on the protagonist's real name and JC Denton is a code name), this idea of the game suddenly throwing out character creation is exactly what the opening of ''VideoGame/{{Deltarune}}'' does.

That quote is more a dig at the state of gaming culture when PS All-stars came out, and less about the scenario that rendered the above example hilarious in hindsight.

-->'''Yahtzee:''' ''(on Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale)'' I remember thinking Sony must've been fucking kicking themselves for letting Nintendo use Solid Snake, 'cause it meant they had to do with Raiden instead, the knockoff of the popular one that nobody likes. ** In the same review, Yahtzee brings up the ''Franchise/{{Persona}}'' series by the same creator, describing it as "about spending half the time battling monsters in a dream and the other half trapped in a high school anime and being unable to say which was the most nightmarish." Fast forward to 2017 and he became a big fan of ''VideoGame/Persona5'', as well as other entries in the series later on. Notably, he did make complaints about both the combat sections and the high school life sim sections, but says that he still needs them both to be there.
