No meta moment, see this query.

* A meta example comes in the form of a Jirass Medal. This is in fact Tsuburaya's subtle way of saying that they still have plans for obscure past monsters, even if the ones that are closely related to Toho's roots.

* Another meta example is Gamma Future's very existence. Many people that grew up with the first three Heisei Ultraman shows (Series/UltramanTiga, Series/UltramanDyna and Series/UltramanGaia) are grown up and still hold their nostalgia for them fondly. So Gamma is just one big nostalgia trip for all of them, from the reused Heisei sounds from their respective series' to especially Gamma Illusion, showing clones of them ready to take down their opponents.

* According to Kiyotaka Taguchi (the director)'s interview in Uchusen 169, Juggler's inclusion into the story was purposely made to cement his CharacterDevelopment, believing that he can't be the same person for a very long time.
-->'''Taguchi''': He's not that youthful man in 20's or the glaring Juggler in his 30's, he's a withering Juggler in his 40's; this is the answer he finally settled with after doing various things and I told him to run for that answer. But it doesn't matter if it's the Juggler everyone expects. I want Juggler to be a grown man, not the same person forever. This time, its also a series where you can see a part of the history of his humane transition. I don't know if this will attract or reduce the number of Juggler's fans. That much gimmick is what I'm doing.
* Takaya Aoyagi in his interview stated that [[https://www.deviantart.com/zer0stylinx/art/Why-Juggler-can-t-be-an-Ultraman-852209590 he has no troubles if Juggler were to become an Ultraman]], but also added that Juggler has a charm on his own and that he doesn't need to become one as he is an interesting character on his own.
* To celebrate Ultraman Day (''Series/{{Ultraman}}'''s 54th anniversary), Tsubaraya released [[https://youtu.be/vJJ3THk-FW0 this short]] of Z gathering signs from the rest of the Ultra Brothers as a present for the original.
** Of particular note is that Z's interaction with [[Series/UltramanAce Ace]] feels more calm and tender than with the others. This becomes particularly HeartwarmingInHindsight when we learn that Ace is effectively Z's godfather.
* Mixed with Awesome: After the end of the final episode, director Taguchi jokingly [[https://twitter.com/TaguchiKiyotaka/status/1340899341288935424?s=20 tweeted]] that he would going on a meeting for extension of the series up to episodes 49/50. Fans and former cast members of past Ultra Series gave a lot of replies and with a viral hashtags goes to prove that ''Ultraman Z'' is in fact a successful series on its own.
* It wasn't too typical for the chat during the online debut of episodes for people to chant Z's name when he invokes it during the transformation sequence. During the finale the chat absolutely went wild to chant for Ultraman Z and Haruki for the final battle.
* The Premium Bandai exclusive DX Dark Z Riser contains some of Juggler's voice lines from the show, but the last piece of dialogue that you can find in it is Juggler/Takaya Aoyagi personally thanking his fans for making him the BreakoutCharacter he is today.
-->'''Juggler/Takaya Aoyagi''': [[SincerityMode Thank you for loving me.]]

** After the opening, Haruki gets chewed on by the director for his reckless decisions. The director leaves, but not without [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold remarking that the STORAGE members were able to make it out safely at the very least]]. Hebikura takes it UpToEleven by entrusting the job of piloting Sevenger to Haruki without any ill intent.

* There's two Red King's that appear in this episode. Both rise up and attack, leaving Z and the new King Joe STORAGE Custom to deal with them. Haruki kills the male, and then joins Yuka to fight the female, but then he learns something... they were just defending an egg. Knowing that he's just killed a father to be, Haruki has a MyGodWhatHaveIDone moment, and then, just when Yuka is about to kill the female, he defends it with a barrier. The mother and her child then move elsewhere to live more peacefully.

* The end of episode 24 almost seemed what it looks like to be the DarkestHour for the mankind as Ultraman Z was defeated and another transformation would kill both him and Haruki. Haruki awakened inside a basement and discovers Juggler, still seeing his former captain as a BrokenPedestal after all the crap he pulled in the early episode. However, former STORAGE members gather behind him and Juggler gives Haruki his former uniform, telling the young boy to suit up and prepare to reclaim STORAGE's base.
** Lets remember that at the beginning of the episode, Juggler almost got Ultroid Zero and willing to leave Haruki behind, but abandoned it for the young boy's life. Haruki was supposedly defeated at Fukuma City, his hometown and there's implication that Juggler spirited him back to Tokyo to regroup with STORAGE members.

* Seeing Shinya finally get revenge on Celebro is really nice. He and Yuka finally kill the alien parasite off screen via disection.
* Beliarok seems to perform a HeroicSacrifice earlier in the episode. But when Haruki and Z leave to take on other monsters across the universe, he comes back! Turns out he's pretty much immortal. He sticks with the two young warriors since he thinks he can cut more things if he sticks with them.
