* The ridiculous amount of effort Doug puts into getting reviews and sketches out is kinda inspiring. The guy even apologized once for only being able to get three shows out one week, [[DoingItForTheArt holy crap]].

* His reaction to the DyingMomentOfAwesome in Double Team. The childlike glee is what sells it, but just before he shows the scene, he swears he will [[DespairEventHorizon lose all faith in mankind]] if the setup didn't deliver. And for once in his life, ''it does!''

** In the same vein, his total fangasm at the epic death scene in ''Double Team'' is incredibly adorable.

Especially remembering some of the worry people had over the ''{{Airborne}}'' review, this troper wanted to give him a huge hug.

* Him recovering from his HeroicBSOD at the end of the BabyGeniuses review when he realizes the main problem-not being able to vocalize criticism-is a non-issue. The formerly-depressive and FilmNoir-like InnerMonologue picks up to his usual tone, and he gets the goofiest smile on his face...soldier on, Critic.

* You probably wouldn't notice it if you didn't watch a lot of videos in a row, but he has a [[BerserkButton big problem]] with ([[BrattyHalfPint undeserving]]) children being badly treated or the movie logic letting parents/adults behave like dicks. It's a lovely PapaWolf thing and if you remember that he (the Critic, obviously, not Doug) was abused as a kid, it adds even more sweetness.

* After the credits of his ''Langoliers'' review, Doug comes on to do a hyperactive commercial saying that people can pre-order the Best of TGWTG Vol. 2 DVD. He then says that "we" get to have the special offer because we stayed after the credits, and then he says that we're awesome, and he loves us so much. It's quick, it's most likely something that sort of popped out in the hyper attitude of the commercial, but it's still sweet that even after all this time, Doug still loves his fans.

* Doug directing fans to vote for the AngryVideoGameNerd rather than Nostalgia Critic as Best Online Web Series during the Open Web Awards. The purpose was to not split a shared fanbase and allow other shows to win. When the Nerd found out, he made his own statement of thanks and declared a victory for him to be a victory for Doug as well.

* Doug's video on winning the Mashable Award for Best Entrepreneur Of The Year. There aren't many people who can pull off looking 100% genuine when they say they don't deserve something like that.

* His [[Dungeons And Dragons]] review. Seeing how happy the film makes him is enough to put a smile on your face.

* The introduction to "Doug's Top Ten Movies He Hates But Everyone Else Loves" is basically Doug ([[AlterEgoActing not the Critic]]) saying "everyone has movies that they like and dislike, it is all opinion, and nobody's is more valuable than anyone else". Heartwarming on its own, but considering [[AlterEgoActing his usual persona]] it becomes extremely so.

* Every year when the Critic begins a review by yelling "CHRISTMAS!" Especially good in ''Rover Dangerfield'' when he actually walks to his backyard just so he can run all the way to the review room and shout it.

** Especially when you find out that Doug had a [[http://thatguywiththeglasses.wikia.com/wiki/ThatGuyWithTheGlasses#Inspiration_for_.22That_Guy_With_The_Glasses.22 mid-midlife crisis]] back when he must have been at least in his early twenties. It just makes it an even more triumphant return. Plus, for all Critic's faults and issues, you've got to admit he's resilient.
