Spirou proceeds to cut it with a shard of glass, and Fantasio orders him to run away if he doesn't want to die too. But Spirou refuses, [[FriendshipMoment assuring that he won't let his friends down]]. A few scenes before, Fantasio told the same, as Spirou walked away, and the latter snarked he did not know they were friends. In addition to the MeaningfulEcho, the scene look even more sweet, given that for the first time in the movie, Spirou cares for [[ItsAllAboutMe someone else than himself]].

* This scene mark also the time when Seccotine and Fantasio drop the "belligerent" part in their BelligerentSexualTension. When she sees him in a death threat, Seccotine [[AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther utterly panics]] and tries to rescue Fantasio as well, despite she answered an infuriated "Certainly not!" to the question if [[HeIsNotMyBoyfriend he was her boyfriend]], the scene before. When Fantasio is finally saved, Seccotine, relieved, throw herself in his arms, admitting she was scared to death.

When they are put back in motion, Fantasio have at first the "It wasn't me"! reaction. But Seccotine quickly shushes him with a FingerMuzzle, then a ShutUpKiss (the first ever for him, by the way, with the tie-in comics that came out simultaneously). He is at first catatonic with surprise, but rapidly reciprocates the kiss. In the very last scene, they maybe had a RelationshipUpgrade, as they're shown close enough to FinishingEachOthersSentences.]]
