** Also, when the zodiac group is joining hands to banish Bill, Pacifica is hesitant to take McGucket's hand because she's grossed out. Preston, in probably the nicest tone we've ever heard him use over the course of the series, encourages her to do what nobody in the Northwest family has ever done. For a character who's tone and attitude to Pacifica has only ever been "expectant", it's nice to see him do something actually fatherly for her, even if it won't help the family's reputation.

* On a meta level: Series creator Alex Hirsch's sister Ariel had a huge crush on Music/{{NSYNC}}'s Lance Bass as a kid, so Alex cast Bass as a guest in this episode and invited Ariel to come meet him and get memorabilia signed. He also gave her a cameo in the episode. The code at the end of the episode reads HAPPY NOW, ARIEL?
** Ariel would respond later that she was happy.

* A meta one: Over the course of the first season, the fandom expressed disappointment in the lack of openly LGBT characters. Alex Hirsch had expressed interest in incorporating LGBT characters into the show, but Disney censors wouldn't allow it. Fast forward to the finale, and the HoYay-riddled Blubs and Durland end up openly declaring their love for each other, with the scene cutting just short of the obvious kiss they were about to share. The show, Disney, and cartoons as a whole have come a long way in 3 years.

* In Legend of the Gnome Gemulets, some dialogue reveals that when the twins were born, Stan was there and held them. Also, Dipper nearly died, Mabel punched a doctor in the face straight out of the womb, and Stan refused to give them to Shermy, their grandfather.

* When Gravity Falls ended Alex Hirsch decided to call the fans honorary Pines family members which is something the fans needed to hear when the series had finished
** As an extension of this heartwarming moment, Hirsch said that all head canons were equal and that they don't need his confirmation or input because they are just another form of dedication from the fans. While this may have been depicted as more apathetic or aggressive but from Hirsch's prospective this a very heartwarming act because he hasn't exactly had the best experiences with the gravity falls shipping or fan fiction community to a point where he has insulted or mocked some of the ships. So he's essentially telling them that the ship teases are as real as the shippers want them to be and that the ending allows them to make their own ending for the characters.
* While shippers were upset and enraged that their pairings were never fulfilled, they overlooked the fact that the twins are friends with their former enemies in the end, in the first season their rivals would publicly humiliate them or threaten them with violence but in the final episode they all attend the twins party as loyal and close friends and finally signed a note for Dipper so he can remember the friends he and Mabel made during the summer.
* July 20, 2016. [[https://twitter.com/_AlexHirsch/status/755870882027802624 Alex Hirsch tweeted the first major clue to the location of the Cipher statue seen as the final shot of the series]] and already fans are banding together on an around-the-world quest to piece the clues together and find it. Less than 4 hours later [[https://twitter.com/_AlexHirsch/status/755921257439174656 the second clue was found in Russia]], with the next clue apparently hidden somewhere in Japan.

* After abandoning Grunkle Stan to go chase a monster that turned out to be just a very tech savvy hillbilly who explained that he wanted some attention from his family. Dipper and Mabel (and Soos) decide to go back and spend time with each other like poor Stan originally planned to.

** Dipper helping Mabel out of [[TroubledFetalPosition Sweater Town]], followed by him offering to break the news about her wanting to break up with Gideon for her so she wouldn't have to. That was seriously nice of him, even if it had unintended consequences.
** The reason why Mabel is so enthusiastic about befriending Gideon at first is that she likes having someone to do girly things with, since Soos and Dipper do "boy things" all the time. How does the episode end? With Mabel bedazzling Soos.

* While it’s also hilarious, the fact that Dipper and Soos have bonded over doing "boy things" such as blowing up hot dogs in a microwave is incredibly sweet.

* The clear concern Dipper has when he finds out his sister is wigging out from the sugar stuff (thinking it wasn't as bad earlier but when it's clear she's [=ODing=], he is legitimately freaking out)

** Grunkle Stan cheers for Mabel and wanted her to win the contest. The other contestant wasn't the nicest regardless, but it goes to show that Grunkle Stan does care about Mabel.
** Soos is very clearly supporting Mabel too. He takes a moment to compliment her for the cheers she's getting, and is terribly sad when he announces Pacifica wins and gives her the crown, it shows how much he cares for the twins.
** Tyrone being nice to [[CloneDegeneration Paper Jam Dipper]]. Tyrone's particularly patient with him, and hushes Dipper #3 for his rude comment to Paper Jam Dipper—he's got as much of a BigBrotherInstinct towards all the clones like Dipper does with Mabel.

** Again, Dipper and Wendy have a fairly sweet moment. It's kind of downplayed, but their casual conversation when Dipper runs into her near the bathroom is just... nice.
** Tyrone trying to feed Paper Jam Dipper. It's oddly heartwarming, funny, and kind of creepy.
** Then there's the final scene with Dipper and Tyrone just talking together about what they've learned about not getting in their own way.
*** And Tyrone giving Dipper extra encouragement to go after Wendy as he melts away.

* Dipper comforting Mabel after Pacifica treats her like crap, followed by a pep talk.

* Dipper pointing out that Mabel's brand of silliness was the real key to unlocking Gravity Falls past, since its true founder was similar to her. Upon being woken up from his peanut-buttery tomb, Quentin Trembley commends them both for their achievement, and even makes Mabel a congressman (he can't actually do that, but it's a nice thought), and gives Dipper the President's Key, which can open every lock in the country.

* Dipper admitting to Wendy that he was, in fact, trick o treating with his sister.
* It's a small one, but if you notice when the twins and company come back to the Mystery Shack, it's implied Wendy has been there for a while. Showing that while she ''could've'' gone home, she chose to go to the Shack and be with them.

** In a somewhat creepy way, the Summerween Trickster being able to die happy in the knowledge that someone enjoyed eating him.
** 3 year old Dipper & Mabel [[http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/gravityfalls/images/4/4c/S1e12_Scrap_Book_3yrs_old.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/800?cb=20121023041756 dressed as kittens]]. D'awww...

** When Mabel is sad that even after all that they didn't get any candy, Stan reveals the two bags left behind by those two kids from earlier.
** The [=LolPigs=] segment during the credits gives a really warm fuzzy feeling to watch, especially since this was one of the freakiest and most intense episodes in the entire show.

* Grunkle Stan trusts Mabel with the shack for 72 hours in "Boss Mabel". He does it to prove a point. However, it's not often that Grunkle Stan acts are fueled by principle instead of money.

* In "The Deep End," Mabel falls for a merman trapped in the local pool. She enjoys hanging out with him, but when she realizes how unhappy he is [[IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy she goes to great lengths to help him return to the ocean]].

** Even Blubs and Durland have [[HeterosexualLifePartners a little moment]] [[HoYay of their own]].

* There's just something adorable about the way Waddles gingerly puts his hoof on Stan's finger and grunts at him when Stan tells Waddles he's watching him. Stan might not like Waddles much, but Waddles definetly likes Stan.

* Stan and Mabel making up after their fight, culminating in the two of them [[SleepCute falling asleep]] [[https://www.themarysue.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/well-earned-nap.jpg together]] [[ItMakesSenseInContext covered in tree sap.]]
** Dipper and Soos also making up after their fight with their fist bump.

* The reason Stan acts so cold and bossy towards Dipper, and constantly making him do chores? He sees how weak he was when he was a young man in Dipper. Just like what his father did to him, Stan's toughening him up so he can become strong and proud.

** On an interesting note, when Stan's memories reveal his weakness as a teenager, it indicates that he was embellishing his previous recollection of his younger days (in "Boyz Crazy"), which made him look like a jock-y ladies' man. The fact that he deliberately revealed these memories means that he considered this moment important enough to open up to Dipper about some of the more embarrassing elements of his early days (which he had been keeping from Dipper until then) in order to teach him an important lesson about life.

* The end credits features [=McGucket=] swimming with his son.... and raccoon wife.

** Also, the way he convinces Gideon. Althought the latter is always being mean (at best) towards him, and despite the fact he was sided with Bill and spent the episode hunting them, Dipper doesn't go for TheReasonYouSuckSpeech, but gives him a sincere and heartfelt advice.

* In a sadistic, twisted way of heartwarming but Bill's little song "We'll meet again" and the WeCanRuleTogether speech to Ford. Even though Bill was a FalseFriend and only pretended to be Ford's friend it is kind of his own sadistic definition of a friend and the closest he ever was nice to a main protagonist.

* It’s a small moment but when Blendin tells the time police that he wants to fight Mabel and Dipper in Globnar, the twins are seen playfully hitting each other. It’s a small like this that shows how much the twins get along and enjoy each other company, unlike most siblings in TV shows.

** And after realizing what did to try and make him happy, Soos uses his Time Wish to patch the twins up, and says that ''they're'' his family.

** Mirrored by Stan, Mabel and Grenda geeking out over the ''Duck-tective'' finale, spending the whle day beforehand shopping and preparing for it. Stan at no point makes any kind of crack about this and just genuinely enjoys himself. Like Dipper and Stanford, it's adorable.

* It's a small one, but if you notice when the twins and company come back to the Mystery Shak, it's implied Wendy has been there for a while. Showing that while she ''could've'' gone home, she chose to go to the Shak and be with them.

* Grunkle Stan's love for his twin brother, Stanford is also incredibly sweet. The guy worked endlessly for 30 years straight, and risked the end of the world to get him back. The little moments that we see like the boat being named "Stan O' War", secretly taking Ford's glasses in Carpet Diem when his old room is discovered by Soos, and so on only adds to this. And even after Ford repeatedly broke his heart, Stan never really gave up on him. His love for Ford pays off at the end of the series.

** Dipper high-giving Mabel after her joke goes over well with the moviegoers from that same short.
