However, her body is so weakened that she can't be sedated, and the pain alone could kill her anyway. HUE mentions that a viable solution to prevent her death would be to fuse her pain receptors to Gary's in order to lessen the strain put on her body. Gary consents to it with no hesitation, and even though it immediately takes a massive toll on him and puts him in excruciating pain, he keeps insisting that HUE keeps diverting more and more of Quinn's pain to him, because he knows she would do the same for him.
** When the strain from the experience causes Gary to go into cardiac arrest, Avocato ''immediately'' grabs a pair of defibrillators and revives Gary before he even has a chance to lose consciousness.
** After Quinn wakes up, an exhausted but relieved Gary greets her with a warm smile, and asks her to tell him about her sister.
