* If Jason is so obsessed with ChopSockey and {{Wuxia}} films, why doesn't he immediately get what Lu means by his "empty you cup" speech? That sort of movie is always ''packed'' with such cryptic proverbs.

** It's just people being racist.
*** With a liberal helping of ViewersAreMorons.
** It's still weird that the this totally inconsquential white teen has a role of destiny to play in a land that has nothing to do with him. To say it's people being racist or ViewersAreMorons is to just dismiss valid concerns condescendingly.
*** The land that white teen is from made the movie. Your concerns might be considered valid if you were similarly offended by the vast array of media from other countries where they insert characters from said countries into the myths and myth structures from countries not their own, such as Chinese or Japanese characters inserted into European legend, but unless you do, your concerns are instead based in racism and deserve to be dismissed with all due condescension.

* Why, in the everliving hell, did the Jade Emperor put someone as ObviouslyEvil as the Jade ''Warlord'' in charge? I mean, sure, you couldn't put the Monkey King in charge, but still, this guy seems to literally do nothing but KickTheDog to the citizens of China.

** HorribleJudgeOfCharacter. [[FanWank Or maybe]] the Warlord has previously wormed his way into the Emperor's good graces and kept his cruelty in check until after Emperor left for his [[SarcasmMode well-advised]] 500 years of meditation, after which he had no one to stop him.

** Most people appreciate things, but they never had the drive (or the needed money) to pursue them. Jason is the only son of a single mother, he maybe spent his life thinking he had better things to do with his time and money rather than pursue a dream he could feel as selfish

** typical argument by the young white male with no life experience: “you’re the real racist!!1!1!” Yawn. Grow up, go out into the real world, and then maybe you won’t be so quick to dismiss valid concerns by minorities.

** Lots of people watch movies but don't absorb anything about the message or meaning of them, engaging on only the most shallow level that fits their preconceptions. Headscratchers pages are typically full of good examples of this.

** As noted above, Jason doesn't really seem to respect the philosophy behind the awesome. He probably thinks knowing martial arts is just "practice these moves, now you're a master" and is unaware of the less-exciting training one really has to go through.
