*** It's bad writing from all 3 standpoints. First, Ben SHOULD be able to control any vote just by being the tie breaker, but for no reason they side against him and agree to do nothing. Second, when Ben calls out rage not seeking vengeance and compassion not seeking to help, perfectly reasonable questions, they just have compassion cry and avoid the question. Third, the alien can even bring back extinct species, no matter HOW long Ben would be locked in that form, it's utterly selfish that he'd not even consider trying to debate again. It comes down to saying "I'd prefer to let cannon bolt and any other alien's species remain extinct, along with letting evil empires and overloads freely destroy worlds just so i don't have to listen to an old couple bicker". It's the writers making an alien with the powers of God and not being able to make good reasons it can never be used.
