* In the Creator/BillMurray movie ''Larger than Life'', one scene shows Bill Murray talking to the elephant while Matthew [=McConaughey=] is on the phone with his boss and he discovers that Bill Murray betrayed him. Watching [=McConaughey=]'s exaggerated poses with the juxtaposition of the heartfelt speech from Murray is but one of the funny moments of this film.

* In ''Film/{{Gremlins}}'', when Billy's dad in on the phone at his inventor's convention, in the background is a time machine (like the one used in the 1960 film, ''Film/{{The Time Machine|1960}}'', also seen on ''Series/TheBigBangTheory''). The time machine disappears (having gone back in time) and people start feeling the air around where it was, looking for it.

* ''Film/CitizenKane'' has a scene of Kane and his friends enjoying a beach party. Because the scene was shot on a sound stage, the Florida wetlands in the background are represented by rear-projected stock footage of the jungles of [[LostWorld Skull Island]] taken from ''Film/TheSonOfKong''. It's a quick scene, so it's easy to miss that those things flying around the treetops ''are not birds''. So yes, technically there are pterodactyles in ''Citizen Kane''.

*** Parodied when an air traffic controller is preparing to go to work amidst the chaos caused in the movie. While he is getting ready at a mirror, we see in the background someone getting absolutely mauled by a dog. The others don't seem to notice at all. [[RewatchBonus Then said air traffic controller walks ''through'' said mirror as it has now become a hallway]].
