* The group get separated from Piplup and Buck after getting attacked by Graveler. After fighting off a Golem with Gible, the group say they have to find Piplup. The method they use? Gible using Draco Meteor, to Dawn's dismay. It works of course, with Piplup taking a hit for its troubles. And to top it all off, Piplup rather begrudgingly ''thanks'' Gible for its help.
** Even funnier when it was the fact that: 1) Dawn could tell what Gible was about to do a mile away and 2) the meteor defies physics by traversing a cave system to find the penguin.

* Faced with Team Rocket's HumongousMecha, Ash decided to call on his Snorlax to literally take it down (since Ash used a similar tactic a hundred episodes back, during the beginning of the Battle Frontier saga). Then they found out that Snorlax had ''gone to sleep''. That's not the hilarious part; what's really hilarious was that Snorlax really did take the mecha down (albeit temporarily), by ''rolling over it''.
* Once Team Rocket's been taken care of, Ash asks for the rest of his Pokémon, cue Glalie freezing him and Torkoal thawing him out, with a Flamethrower [[RumpRoast in a questionable spot]].
* Poor Bulbasaur. The only one of the originals to appear, made worse since it involves him getting assaulted by Heracross, ''again''.
** Credit to him, he ''does'' get revenge by whipping Heracross away. Heracross then ''moves onto Oak's head'' and tries to suck nectar out of ''his'' head.
* Snorlax's return has him picking up Pikachu and ''licking him affectionately'' in greeting. Pikachu, for his part, doesn't seem to mind. Ash returns Snorlax to his Pokeball and Pikachu ''gently floats to the ground.''
* Some of the weapons on Team Rocket's giant Mecha... are a fly swatter, a plunger, a giant pair of cooking tongs, a net, a large paper fan, one of those things you use in Mathematics to draw triangles, a ''giant pink hammer'' and '''an enormous pair of scissors'''. Just ''where'' did they manage to obtain a pair of scissors so large?

* Charizard returns and flames Ash; Iris is worried - Cilan points out that it seems normal. Ash, for his part, just shakes it off - as always. Pikachu and Charizard ''give each other a thumbs up'' in greeting - to note, Pikachu is a ''tiny mouse Pokemon'' who has ''stood on Charizard's shoulder'' to greet him.
* Iris accuses Charizard of being a Dragon Type. Ash, Cilan, Pikachu, Brock and N all looked confused; Charizard just looks ''embarrassed'' and has an "I'm sorry, ''what'' did you just say I was?" look on his face.

* Ash and his Pokémon trying to think of a way to counter Fantina's Hypnosis, only for themselves to fall asleep as they do. Ash's reaction after he realises his Pokémon are snoozing is what sells the scene.

* Team Rocket bickering about their plan to take advantage on Ash's depression, following their [[OhCrap realization]] that Ash and his Pokémon are still present, who were unsatisfied with their attempt to retrieve Pikachu.
