* While it makes sense that Erik would be attracted to opera singer [[Film/RepoTheGeneticOpera Mag]], I realized why else it made sense. Christine was first played by Music/SarahBrightman in [[ThePhantomOfTheOpera the musical]]. Guess who played Mag? That's right, ''[[ActorAllusion Brightman]]''!

If he ever gave in to that side our only hope for survival would be his [[DumbBlonde hair color]].

Added DiffLines:

* The buildup to the ''Kings War'' arc also took a long time. Directly it dates back to at least [[http://asherhyder.deviantart.com/art/Roommates-305-Manners-357643861 page 305]] which was published 1/2 year before... but the earliest references to the story as a living entity (which is part of the main plot of the arc) go back as far as [[http://asherhyder.deviantart.com/art/Roommates-150-Story-199197924 page 150]] (2 and 1/2 years earlier) or even [[http://asherhyder.deviantart.com/art/Roommates-137-Lee-187931569 page 137]] (almost 3 years earlier).

Added DiffLines:

** We ❤ SchrodingersButterfly!

Added DiffLines:

** This is also very subtly hinted at, with the Inception team treating the Buildingverse as a "[dream] level" in and of itself. The ending of Inception is a well-known MindScrew - is the real world real or another dream level? - and it makes plenty of weird Fridge sense for the Buildingverse world and our world to be more dream levels...

Added DiffLines:

** This probably makes Roommates unique in it's level of not only FridgeHorror but '''Fridge {{Angst}}''' for the ''readers''.

* The RecursiveReality of this comic postulates, that a world can be at the same time real for its inhabitants and fictional in an another one ''and'' there can be transit between mutually, recursively or partially fictional ones... so... are this world real or we are living in just another level of fictionality? Can the fourth wall protect us? Etc..

** In a way I suppose. The main difference being that Jareth's magic was intentionally sealed by someone.

** In a way I suppose. The main difference being that Jareth's magic was intentionally sealed by someone. Also the thought that physical anomalies are the indication of supernatural powers is really old as is the connection between magic and eyes.
* If we think about it Jareth's "faces" pretty much conform to the UsefulNotes/IdSuperegoAndEgo trinity with a twist as Jareth isn't human:
** Dark!Jareth would be his Id, his instinct, his devil on the shoulder (TheFatalist and TheTrickster as fae natures go).
** Mortal!Jareth his Super Ego, the one who he wants to be, the angel on his shoulder ({{Adorkable}} NiceGuy)
** Jareth's normal personality is the Ego that tries to balance this whole mess out, with varying degree of success... but at least very [[{{determinator}} stubbornly]].

** Creepy as '''Hell''': And the whole thing happened because a young woman was nice to a really lonely little kid who got a PrecociousCrush on her. So anything you ever do in this word (even the smallest and most innocent) can result in a chain of events that can make your life living hell. This is actually also ''Fridge Brilliance'' as it is perfectly in line with the traditional depiction of TheFairFolk that the comic uses.

* Jareth's realm in the Fey world being [[spoiler: The Unwanted. Not only because children are wished away to him canonically, but look at where he's currents living and with whom--just about all of the recurring cast have probably been/felt unwanted in their canon at some point. It also explains his potential power--it's not always going to be summer or winter, but there are always unwanted people in the world.]]

** '''Even More''' Creepy (and strangely heartwarming): Turns out this was [[XanatosSpeedChess if not planned and orchestrated but at least manipulated]] by Jareth's [[MagnificentBastard father]] since at least before his [[SolomonDivorce divorce]] (when Jareth was just a kid) if not from the very beginning. [[spoiler: He wanted his son to have [[TrueCompanions friends]] and so access to ThePowerOfLove and [[ThePowerOfFriendship Friendship]].]] and he is poor guy's ''better'' parent.

* Some people commented that Jareth looks like Fai from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles with his eyepatch during the whole Dream arc. While perhaps not intentional by the artist (and the eyepatch ahving a good in-story explanation), it still makes perfect sense. Fai wore the eyepatch after his eye was eaten/plucked out/somehow consumed- basically, he couldn't do any magic after that. Likewise, Jareth was unable to perform magic the whole time whilst unaware of the dream, all the while wearing that thing.
