** [[LightIsNotGood Light Yagami]] is a subtle example. Indeed, there are very few justifiable reasons for Light to do what he does throughout the course of the story. There are no personal or particularly tragic events that, at the very least, justify his malice and his quest for power, beyond his disdain for the state of the world and his desire to shape it in his own way and to his own form. From the outset, we learned that he comes from a very functional family that always cared for him, and he never had anything resembling real problems. He was always a child who was given everything and never had to suffer ''anything''. Instead, he seeks an excuse for thousands and millions of people to praise him and submit to his whims. The fact that everything he did, he did because [[ItAmusedMe he was bored]] and to inflate his ego doesn't help.

Furthermore, with all his divine power at his disposal, he could be more methodical and erase the mortals quickly. Instead, he commits carnage slowly and kills billions of men, women and children with sadistic glee, revealing that in the end, Black is a depraved, twisted monster.

When Asta predictably [[UnstoppableRage loses it]], Dante compliments him for "becoming a true human".
*** [[BloodKnight Vanica Zogratis]] is this to a lesser degree, but if it motivates her enemies to give her a proper fight, she will [[KickTheDog kick as many dogs]] and [[BerserkButton push as many buttons]] as it takes.
*** Not even her own Dark Disciples are safe; when she's had her fill at the Heart Kingdom, she [[WhyAmITicking blows them up]] in an attempt to take out as many civilians as possible, all just to fuel Noelle's hatred further (not that Noelle didn't already [[YouKilledMyMother despise her guts]]).

As a member of Passione, he would spread the mold of his Stand [[FantasticNuke Green Day]] as much as possible so he can get everyone's [[RuleOfThree looks]] ''[[RuleOfThree on camera!]]'' Oh, and he doesn't care one bit about who dies. Men, women, [[WouldHurtAChild children]]. All he cares for is getting the look of their dying face on camera. The man was so vile, [[EvilerThanThou even]] ''[[BigBad Diavolo]]'' considered him to be trash! [[spoiler:Is there any wonder why his [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown beatdown]] lasted ''[[NoKillLikeOverkill seven pages]]'' in the manga?]]

* ''LightNovel/{{Baccano}}'': Ladd Russo makes it clear that the only reason why he works as an [[ProfessionalKiller assassin]] and goes on a murderous rampage on the train is because he FEELS LIKE IT.

* ''LightNovel/ACertainMagicalIndex'': Richard Brave tried to trick a little girl named Patricia Birdway into touching a [[TomeOfEldritchLore Grimoire]], which would have blown her arm off. Fortunately, Stiyl Magnus stopped her in time. Richard said he didn't have anything to gain from doing that, but he thought it would be funny. Overlaps with StupidEvil because he was planning to ransom Patricia to a powerful magic cabal.

Isaac Westcott, on the other hand, is the "only" character that has a goal that can not be justified. He "simply" wants to [[CardCarryingVillain plunge the world into chaos and death]] and [[EvilFeelsGood just want to watch the world burn around him]] [[ToCreateAPlaygroundForEvil for his own entertainment]]. This man, has no [[TheSociopath sense of morality]], he just felt happiness when he sees [[{{Sadist}} people suffering and dying in despair.]] He also mentions his goal to Tohka using the word [[ASimplePlan "simple"]] to complete the sentence about his [[HellOnEarth "dearest-goal"]]. In Westcott's [[AxCrazy twisted mind]], he thinks generating [[OmnicidalManiac omnicide]] is something as natural as breathing.... and all this ForTheEvulz.

* ''LightNovel/{{Durarara}}'': This is why Izaya does ''anything''. It is subverted by the anime's finale in which Simon implies [[spoiler: that this is purely an excuse and he is jealous of Shizuo's influential status]] - only in the ''anime'' though.
