* StealthPun: The theater scene in the sequel. The original Nutty Professor was made a year after CapeFear, whilst in the remake's sequel, Buddy is laughing mad while watching the original in the style of DeNiro's Max Cady's Iconic scene in the remake of CapeFear.

* AttractiveBentSpecies: During the [[AttackOfThe50FootWhatever Attack Of The 50 Foot Hamster]] in the second film, the dean tries to hide under a fur coat, making him resemble a giant hamster himself. This works out for him [[BlackComedyRape just as you'd expect]].

* ThisAintRocketSurgery: In The Klumps, Sherman, whose mind is decaying rapidly and is just about to meet Denise's parents, assures himself that he won't make a fool of himself because Denise's parents are probably not rocket scientists. Turns out that's exactly what they are.

* EvenEvilHasStandards: Buddy Love (as sexually perverted as he is) draws the line at wanting to be a male stripper for the Klumps during their male stripping party, especially Granny. When she catches him in the bathroom, she mistakenly thinks that he is the stripper they called for, and to cover his real agenda of why he is there, he lets her believe it. In addition, rather than being turned on like he would a lot of other perverse things, he gets grossed out by seeing a cheeky non-attractive old Granny strip down and take her teeth out to give him a hickey kiss on the mouth even to the point of causing him to vomit. It is almost as though like she is a bigger pervert than him.
** An exception with the oversexed Granny makes is during the scene at the beginning of the second movie in the wedding dream that turns into a nightmare, when a penis joke arises, which everybody in the ceremony thinks is Sherman suddenly having a blantant horny attack all of a sudden right in front of everyone. It is really Buddy Love suddenly coming out of Sherman by charging out of the crotch of his trousers to massively humiliate him. Anyway, during the part of that scene where Sherman's trousers are bulging in and out and before Buddy's head pops out of his fly, while Clesius Klump is yelling out "Show them what the Klumps are made of!" and Anna Klump is yelling out for him to "put it away", even the oversexed Granny Klump ends up saying "Calm down, boy, save it for the honeymoon."
** For as much as all of the Klumps lack table manners except for Sherman, they do have a problem with Ernie Jr. running an ice cream dispenser and putting his mouth under it in a restaurant as he runs it. Especially Anna. As she is one to say "Please teach that boy some manners", she also gets down on Cletus for breaking gas at the table, not to mention when he even brings it up. Those both make her a hypocrite in a matter of speaking, though, because she is not embarrassed to bring up subjects like "colon cleansing" at the table.

* AbhorrentAdmirer: Grandma Klump to Buddy.
** Also, the hamster to Dean Richmond.

** Also Granny Klump could be considered one because of how she not only talks the most cross of all the Klumps, but also because she is the least classy and is most crude and vulgar of them all. Even with the way she always insults Clesius and making them verbally always at each other's throats trading back and forth personal insults which always bothers Anna (Sherman's mother.) Not to mention how vulgar she is by going as far as the stunt she pulls on Buddy Love thinking that he is a male stripper which actually is bad enough to gross out a vulgarly perverted man like him to the point of making him vomit. These along with all the examples with her show you that she has the least moral conduct of all the Klumps.

* Acrofatic: During his exercising montage, Sherman gains a [[TruthInTelevision realistic degree of agility]].

* TheHyena: Buddy plays with it at times. It goes into full force when he encounters Reggie Warrington in person, ''especially'' during the "YourMom is fat" joke.

* MeaningfulName: The fact that the last name of the universally overweight Klumps sounds like plump is obvious. More so is that the slender love interest in the 2nd film is named 'Gains', especially when we're shown that Mrs. Klump's old wedding dress fits her.

* HeavyVoice: Inverted; Buddy Love has a lighter voice than Sherman Klump. In fact, of all the multiple characters he plays in both movies (being the Klumps besides Buddy Love), Buddy Love (even being the all time antagonist) is the only character Eddie Murphy plays using his real voice and appearance.

* AscendedExtra: Sherman's parents in the remake. The original film, they only appear twice, the first time shown as a [[HenpeckedHusband henpecked guy and his mercilessly henpecking wife]], and the second at the end where [[spoiler: They come to sell the serum to all the kids in school]]. In the remake, they appear far more often, and get along quite well with each other.

* SexierAlterEgo - In both versions, the titular professor invents a way to change him from a nerdy looking fellow in the original film (and a rather overweight guy in the remake) into a smooth ladies man.

* TakeThat: Eddie Murphy's Buddy Love sent up the negative traits of his own persona during his cold streak at the box office, something that did not go unnoticed by critics.
** Jerry Lewis' Buddy Love has been interpreted as a parody of DeanMartin, Lewis' old show business partner, although Lewis has repeatedly denied this.
** And Dave Chapelle's character is an enormous take that to UncleTomfoolery and hacky stand up comedy in general.

''The Nutty Professor'' is a 1963 comedy, starring JerryLewis as an AbsentMindedProfessor who, after being bulied and taunted, invents a [[FantasticDrug serum]] that turns him into an [[TheCasanova incredibly handsome, strong and popular]] man named Buddy Love, his new personality gives him the confidence to pursue one of his students, Stella [[PunnyName Purdy]].

* YourMom: Reggie cracks a "Your Mother Is Fat" joke to rile up Buddy[[note]] and the irony here is that he's indirectly referring to Sherman's mother, who really is fat. Buddy is actually Sherman's [[JekyllAndHyde literal alter ego]][[/note]] after [[LaserGuidedKarma he gets a taste of his own medicine from him]], but it only made Buddy feel unfazed and one-up him without any chance of allowing him a proper comeback. This results in Reggie breaking down and attempt to do a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown on
him. However, he [[IKnowKarate fails at his "street karate"]] and Buddy [[CurbStompBattle Curb Stomps]] him.

* PowerWalk: The Klumps in the sequel as they're headed to an all-you-can-eat buffet, where they eat every last piece of food in the place ''except'' the salad.

* FanDisservice: Granny leaping through a field of daisies in a see-through nightgown in the second film.
